Capital Area Activities Conference
The Capital Area Activities Conference (Or CAAC) is a high school sports league located in Central Michigan. It is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). There are currently 19 member schools in the conference that come from the counties of Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, and Livingston. The Capital Area Activities Conference Logo was designed by Lansing Catholic 2003 graduate Raymond B. Corey. Central Michigan
Central Michigan, also called Mid Michigan, is a region in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. As its name implies, it is the middle area of the Lower Peninsula. Lower Michigan is said to resemble a mitten, and Mid Michigan corresponds roughly to the palm, encompassing the fertile rolling plains of the Michigan Basin. The region contains cities of moderate size, including Flint, Saginaw, and the state capital of Lansing. Definitions For the most part, ''Central Michigan'' and ''Mid Michigan'' are synonymous with each other, representing generally the same geographic area of Michigan. Lansing Catholic High School
Lansing Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Lansing, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing. History St. Mary High School was established in 1900. Resurrection High School was established in 1935. In 1963, St. Mary High School was closed and Monsignor John W. O'Rafferty High School was opened in Delta Township. At the same time, Resurrection High School was closed and Monsignor John A. Gabriels High School was opened at the corner of W. Saginaw and Marshall St. Due to financial struggles, the two schools were consolidated in 1970 on the Gabriels campus and the school was renamed Lansing Catholic Central High School. Western High School (Parma, Michigan)
Western High School high school located east of Parma, Michigan, United States. It has classes for grades 9 through 12. Western is located on Dearing Rd, just inside the border of Spring Arbor Township. Jared Vickers is the principal. Flint Metro League
Flint Metro League (FML) is a high school sports league in the Flint area of Michigan. It is composed of twelve high schools. History In 1968, six Flint area schools formed a new league to play against schools of similar size and to cut down on travel for some schools. Two teams, Fenton and Swartz Creek, joined from the County B League, and one each from the Big Nine Conference (Ainsworth), Wayne-Oakland League (Holly) and Tri-County League ( Lapeer High) and a new high school: Carman. The league in 1983 contained 10 schools but by 2002 there were seven teams. Clio in 2005 and Swartz Creek in 2006 moved to the Flint Metro League as the conference was perceived as being overpowering to those schools. In 2006, the entire Big Nine Conference applied for membership in the league to encourage discussion on a merger. Big Nine Conference
The Big Nine Conference, formerly the Big Eight Conference, was a high school sports conference in Genesee County, Michigan, that ended with four high schools in 2012. History Formed in 1960 as the Big Eight Conference, the conference became the Big Nine Conference in 1962 with the addition of Mt. Morris High School. Ainsworth High School left in 1968, and Mt. Morris left in 1972. Powers Catholic High School joined in 1974. In 1976, Carman High School and Swartz Creek High School were added from the Flint Metro League, giving the conference its peak membership of 10. Due to the collegiate Big Ten Conference, the conference's name remained the Big Nine Conference. Membership in the Big Nine remained stable for the next 21 years, with only the newly merged Carman-Ainsworth taking Carman's place in the conference in 1986. Interstate 8 Athletic Conference
The Interstate 8 Athletic Conference is an athletic conference for high schools in Michigan formed in 2014 with eight schools from in south central Michigan. The conference currently consists of Class A, B, and C schools from Barry, Branch, Calhoun, and Jackson counties. The name of the conference derives from the I-69 and I-94 corridors. History The conference was founded in 2014 with the following charter members: Charlotte, Coldwater, Harper Creek, Jackson Lumen Christi, Jackson Northwest, Marshall, Parma Western, and Pennfield. After the 2015-16 school year, Charlotte left the conference and eventually rejoin the Capital Area Activities Conference.
