The canton of Grasse-1 is an administrative division of the Alpes-Maritimes department, southeastern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Grasse. The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the France, French Republic's Departments of France, departments and Arrondissements of France, arrondissements. Apart from their role as organizational units in relation to certain aspects of the administration of public services and justice, the chief purpose of the cantons today is to serve as Constituency, constituencies for the election of members of the representative assemblies established in each of France's territorial departments (Departmental council (France), departmental councils, formerly general councils). Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey
Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey (; Provençal: ''Sant Valier de Tièir'') is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. Geography It is located some 12 kilometres northwest of the famed perfume centre of Grasse on the D6085 highway. Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey and its surrounding area are rich in stone megaliths (particularly great table-shaped stone dolmens) and Bronze Age relics, probably more than anywhere else in the South of France. The most impressive dolmen is called "Verdoline," just south of the village; it may date from as early as 4500 BC and its chamber measures some 1½ X 2 metres (5 X 6½ feet). Near this dolmen is the "Druids' Stone," a rock cylinder created by erosion. Along the roads from Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey toward Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne and going west into the valley of the Siagne River a number of ancient tumuli burial mounds many may be seen. Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne
Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne (, literally ''Saint-Cézaire on Siagne''; oc, Sant Cesari de Sianha) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. Geography Far from the major thoroughfares, Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne lies halfway between the beaches of the Côte d'Azur and the ski resorts of the Maritime Alps. It is located on a plateau at 475 m. Protected from north winds by the alpine foothills around Grasse, it enjoys an exceptionally tempered climate. Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne is located in the western part of Alpes-Maritimes, perched on a spur that dominates the valley of the Siagne. Saint-Cézaire lies 15 km southwest of Grasse, 30 km from Cannes, and 52 km from Nice. On the north are Escragnolles and Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey. To the south are Spéracèdes and Le Tignet. Le Mas
Le Mas ( oc, Lo Mas) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of South-eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Massois, Massoises'', or ''Massoinques''. Geography Le Mas is located some 45 km north-west of Nice and 32 km east of Castellane in a direct line. Access to the commune is by road D10 which branches from the D5 road on the western border of the commune and passes through the length of the commune through the village before continuing to Aiglun in the east. The D110 branches from the D10 in the west of the commune and passes along the river valley to rejoin the D10 east of the village. The commune is alpine in nature with high mountains and alpine valleys throughout.
