Judson Canfield
Judson Canfield (January 24, 1759 – February 5, 1840) was a Connecticut state legislator and state court judge. Born in New Milford, Connecticut, Canfield graduated from Yale College in 1782, and was admitted to the bar in 1785. He entered into private practice in Sharon, Connecticut.Dwight Canfield Kilbourn, ''The Bench and Bar of Litchfield County, Connecticut, 1709-1909'' (1909), p. 234. He was elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in 1802, and served until 1809, thereafter serving in the Connecticut State Senate from 1810 to 1815. Canfield is a city in central Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,699 as of the 2020 census. A suburb about southwest of Youngstown, the city lies at the intersection of U.S. Routes 62 and 224 and is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. In 2005, Canfield was rated the 82nd best place to live in the United States by ''Money'' magazine. History Canfield Township was established in 1798 as township number 1 in range 3 by purchase from the Connecticut Land Company in the Connecticut Western Reserve. It was purchased by six men, although the majority was owned by Judson Canfield, a land agent. The township took his name in 1800. Great Canfield is a village and a civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The village, which sits at the south-east edge of its civil parish, is approximately south-west from the small town of Great Dunmow, and north-west from High Roding. The civil parish contains the hamlets and small settlements of Hope End Green, Hellmans Cross, Bacon End, Baconend Green, and Puttocks End. The River Roding defines the parish border at the south-east, and for 1 mile cuts through the parish before providing part of the north-east border. Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America based on evidence which was published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV.
