Canadian Touring Car Championship
Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Pirelli is a Canadian professional touring car road racing series. In 2006, it was created based on the growth of amateur touring car racing in Canada and the pent-up demand for a professional product. CTCC is featured in Eastern Canada's main provinces, Ontario and Québec. Race events generally take place in the Greater Toronto Area, in the Greater Ottawa Area, in Mirabel, Montréal and Trois-Rivières. The competitor base expands reach all over Canada, but more specifically in Southern and Eastern Ontario, Québec and the United States. Originally, the CTCC used a domestically developed BoP, but now the series parallels the IMSA SportsCar Challenge in using a combination of Group GT4 and TCR Touring Car regulations and homologations for its racing cars. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing. As well as short "sprint" races, many touring car series include one or more Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance races, which last anything from 3 to 24 hours and are a test of reliability and pit crews as much as car, driver speed, and consistency. The Ford Fiesta is a supermini car marketed by Ford since 1976 over seven generations. Greater Madawaska, Ontario
Greater Madawaska is an incorporated township in Renfrew County in eastern Ontario, Canada, created on January 1, 2001, through the amalgamation of the Township of Bagot and Blythfield; the Township of Brougham; and the Township of Griffith and Matawatchan. , it has a population of 2,518. Calabogie Motorsports Park
Calabogie Motorsports Park is the longest road course in Canada at located east of the community of Calabogie in the township of Greater Madawaska, Ontario, Canada. It hosts regional road racing and is the main circuit in the Ottawa metropolitan area. Events The Park, which opened in September 2006, has played host to multiple club racing events. The track also been visit those two years by the Castrol Canadian touring Championship from 2007 to 2009. The track previously hosted the Canadian Superbike Championship opening round in 2008 on the Stadium track, and on the full track in 2009. The inaugural race of the GT3 Cup Challenge have been held from May 14 to May 15, 2011. Gary Kwok
Gary Kwok (born June 11, 1966) is best known as a Canadian race driver. He has raced in the Hong Kong Touring Car Championship, the Canadian Touring Car Championship, the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and the Pirelli World Challenge. In 2011 he drove for the Wiechers-Sport team in the World Touring Car Championship at Macau. In 2019 Gary was the Canadian Touring Car Championship TCR class champion. Parker Thompson (born 2 March 1998) is a Canadian race car driver from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Career Early career Thompson began racing at the age of eight, competing in the Calgary Kart Racing Club a short distance from his family residence in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. From the local club, Thompson graduated to the global ranks of karting. In 2012 he finished 3rd in the junior category of the Rotax World Karting Finals in Portimao, Portugal.
