Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Jason Richard de Vos (born January 2, 1974) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a central defender. An international for Canada, de Vos played in Canada and the United Kingdom – most notably with Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town. Theodor Alexander Corbeanu (born May 17, 2002) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for 2. Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the Canada national team. Paolo Pasquale Peschisolido (born 25 May 1971), commonly known as Paul Peschisolido, is a Canadian soccer manager and former player. Peschisolido was manager of English League Two club Burton Albion from May 2009 until March 2012. Silvana Burtini (born May 10, 1969) is a Canadian former soccer player. A forward, she represented Canada at the 1995, 1999 and 2003 editions of the FIFA Women's World Cup. In 1998 Burtini was named Canadian Player of the Year and was part of the Canadian squad who won the CONCACAF Women's Championship.
