The event is currently hosted as part of the Ottawa Race Weekend since 2015. It was previously hosted by the Oasis Zoo Run in Toronto until 2014. Dylan Wykes
Dylan Wykes (born June 6, 1983) is a Canadian long-distance runner. He represented Canada in the marathon at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, Germany as well as the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. In April 2012, Wykes ran the Rotterdam Marathon in a time of 2:10:47 and qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics. With this mark, he is currently the third fastest Canadian marathoner of all time. Early life Wykes was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, where he attended Frontenac Secondary School. He competed successfully throughout high school, winning the provincial high school (OFSAA) cross country championships in 2001 as well as the 3000m at the 1998, 2000 and 2001 OFSAA track & field championships. The Canadian Half Marathon Championships is the annual national championships for the half marathon in Canada sanctioned by Athletics Canada. The event is currently hosted by the Manitoba Marathon weekend, which is awarded hosting duties from 2019 through 2024. It was previously hosted by the Calgary Marathon weekend and the Banque Scotia 21K de Montréal. The 2018 championships hosted by the Calgary Half Marathon was won by Calgarian Trevor Hofbauer. Mohammed Ahmed (runner)
Mohammed Ahmed (born January 5, 1991) is a Canadian long-distance runner. A three-time Olympian, he is his country's most successful athlete in long distance racing, being the first to medal in the 5000 metres at both the World Championships (bronze in 2019) and the Olympic Games (silver in 2021). As well he is a two-time silver medallist at the Commonwealth Games in the 5000m and 10,000m events and was the 2015 Pan American champion in the 10,000 m. Ben Flanagan
Benjamin "Ben" Flanagan (born 11 January 1995) is a Canadian middle and long-distance runner. He is currently the Canadian record holder in the 5 km and 10 km road races. He also is a 3-time winner of the Falmouth Road Race, having won the race in 2018, 2021, and 2022. High school career Flanagan finished second in the U16 2000 m at the 2010 Canadian Youth Nationals. The next year he competed in the U18 3000 m, once again finishing in second. The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is an annual marathon held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in October. The race day also includes a half marathon and 5 km race. The race has quickly become an elite level marathon and is one of just five World Athletics Gold Label Road Race marathons in North America. Natasha Wodak (divorced Fraser, born 17 December 1981) is a Canadian long-distance runner. She competed in the 10,000 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, placing 23rd. Wodak formerly held the Canadian 10,000m record. In July 2016, Wodak was named to the Canadian Olympic team for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, where she finished 22nd.
