History On June 13, 1940, Campo Grande Atlético Clube was founded. In 1979, the club played the Campeonato Brasileiro First Division for the first time. Campo Grande finished in the 27th position. The club reached the league's second stage. In 1982, the club won its only national title so far, the Brazilian Second Division, after defeating CSA of Alagoas in the final. Campo Grande's Luisinho was the top goalscorer of the competition, with 10 goals. The club was promoted to the following year's first division. Vanderlei Luxemburgo
Vanderlei Luxemburgo da Silva (born 10 May 1952) is a Brazilian professional football coach and former player. He is currently a free agent. A left wingback, Luxemburgo represented Flamengo, Internacional and Botafogo before retiring in 1980. He subsequently became a coach and led Palmeiras, Corinthians, Cruzeiro and Santos to Série A titles, winning the tournament five times, a record total. In 2005 he worked at Real Madrid, but was dismissed in December of that year. His surname is after revolutionary Rosa Luxemburg. Carlos Roberto de Oliveira, known as Roberto Dinamite (born 13 April 1954) is a Brazilian former footballer and politician. He was born in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro state. With a career as centre forward spanning over twenty years, Roberto is Vasco da Gama's player with the most appearances and all-time top goalscorer, as well as the overall leading scorer in the Brazilian Série A. At the national level, Roberto Dinamite played in the 1978 and 1982 FIFA World Cups and the 1972 Olympic Games. He was president of Vasco da Gama from 2008 to 2014. Décio Esteves da Silva (21 May 1927, in Rio de Janeiro – 25 December 2000, in Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian international football player and coach. Biography The technically adept and flexible player was used primarily in midfield. From 1950 until 1962 he was amongst the ranks of Bangu AC, a club from the west of Rio de Janeiro, joining the club the same year like the legendary Zizinho. Dario José dos Santos (born 4 March 1946), nicknamed Dario or Dadá Maravilha (Wonder Dadá), is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a centre-forward. Career Born into poverty, Dadá began his career in 1965, playing in the youth squad of Campo Grande, a small and modest club with no great history in Rio. His style and talent caught the eye of a scout working for Atlético Mineiro, a large and very traditional club from the state of Minas Gerais, who signed him in 1968. In 1969 his prestige was so great that then Brazilian President Emílio Garrastazu Médici asked coach Mário Zagallo to call Dadá to join the national team going to the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. Cláudio Adalberto Adão, or simply Cláudio Adão (born in Volta Redonda, 2 July 1955), is a former Brazilian football (soccer), football player. A gifted Striker (association football), forward, Adão was the top-scorer of almost every championship he's played. His first professional club was Santos Futebol Clube, Santos FC, where he arrived in 1972. When Pelé left Santos in 1974, the club predicted a brilliant future ahead for Adão as Pelé's natural replacement. But they couldn't predict Adão would suffer a serious injury that would leave him off of the pitch for several months. Physicians believed Adão's career to be prematurely ended when Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Flamengo's coach (sport), coach, Cláudio Coutinho (who was himself a physical fitness expert) asked his club to sign Adão. The Campeonato Carioca de Futebol Feminino (''Carioca Women's Football Championship'', in English), organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FFERJ) is the women's football state championship of Rio de Janeiro State, and is contested since 1983.
