The Campeonato Goiano is the football league of the state of Goiás, Brazil. Format First Division First stage *Teams are divided in two groups of six teams. *Double round-robin, in which all teams home-and-away games against the team from other group. *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once within the group. Second stage *Home-and-away playoff The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade. Associação Atlética Aparecidense, commonly referred to as Aparecidense, is a Brazilian professional club based in Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás founded on 22 October 1985. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Goiano, the top flight of the Goiás state football league. Iporá is a municipality in west-central Goiás state, Brazil. The population is around 31,499 (2020) in a total area of 1,026.4 km² (10/10/2002). Iporá Esporte Clube, usually known simply as Iporá, is a Brazilian football club from Iporá, Goiás. History Founded on 1 January 2000, Iporá immediately joined Campeonato Goiano's second tier and ceased activity after suffering relegation in the following year. Goiatuba Esporte Clube, also known as Goiatuba, is a Brazilian football team located in Goiatuba, Goiás. History On May 5, 1970, a sports group met in a room located downtown and set up a professional football club called Goiatuba Esporte Clube, named after the city. Goiânia Esporte Clube, or Goiânia as they are usually called, are a Brazilian football team from Goiânia in Goiás state, founded on July 5, 1938.
