Camelia (actress)
Camelia ( ar, كاميليا), born Lilian Victor Cohen was an Egyptian actress. She was born on December 13, 1919 and died on August 31, 1950. Biography Camelia was born in Alexandria to either a Greek Jewish or a French father (many stories differ on this subject) and an Egyptian Catholic mother of Italian origin. Despite her Jewish surname, Camelia presented herself as a Christian. She was discovered by director Ahmed Salem who cast her in her first film in 1946 at the age of 17. As a beautiful socialite in the high society of Alexandria, she loved partying. Events surrounding her and her high-society relationships frequently appeared in the tabloids. In particular, gossip surrounding her relationships was often associated with that of Farouk of Egypt. Camelia was killed in the crash of TWA Flight 903 in 1950 when she was 30 years old. Ahmed Mohamed Abdallah Salem was an Egyptian 2 time Olympian as a association football, footballer and Track & Field Champion. He competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics and the 1928 Summer Olympics. Early life Ahmed Mohamed Abdallah Salem was born on December 25, 1898, to Egyptian Father Naval Colonel Mohamed Abdallah Salem and Egyptian Mother (descending from Turkey) Adila Alhon. Farouk Of Egypt
Farouk I (; ar, فاروق الأول ''Fārūq al-Awwal''; 11 February 1920 – 18 March 1965) was the tenth ruler of Egypt from the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the penultimate King of Egypt and the Sudan, succeeding his father, Fuad I, in 1936. His full title was "His Majesty Farouk I, by the grace of God, King of Egypt and the Sudan". As king, Farouk was known for his extravagant playboy lifestyle. While initially popular, his reputation eroded due to the corruption and incompetence of his government. He was overthrown in the 1952 coup d'etat, and forced to abdicate in favour of his infant son, Ahmed Fuad, who succeeded him as Fuad II. Farouk died in exile in Italy in 1965. TWA Flight 903 was a regularly scheduled flight from Bombay International Airport, India to New York-Idlewild Airport, via Cairo-King Farouk Airport and Rome-Ciampino Airport. Flight ''The Star of Maryland'', a Lockheed L-749A Constellation, flew the route on the night of 31 August 1950. It departed Cairo at 23:35 for Rome with 55 persons aboard, (48 passengers and seven crew members), in good weather. As Flight 903 was climbing at , the crew reported that its number three engine was on fire and that they needed a priority return to Cairo. As the plane was returning to Cairo, the engine separated from the aircraft, forcing the crew to attempt a forced landing in the desert about 65 miles NNW of Cairo. The airliner went down near the village of Ityai el Barud at the rim of the Western Desert, killing all 55 on board. Egyptian Jews constitute both one of the oldest and youngest Jewish communities in the world. The historic core of the Jewish community in Egypt consisted mainly of Egyptian Arabic speaking Rabbanites and Karaites.
