Cambridge (cigarette)
Cambridge is a brand of cigarettes, currently owned by conglomerate Altria, and manufactured by Philip Morris International (with a few exception in the U.S., where Philip Morris USA takes over production). In the U.K., ''Cambridge'' was manufactured by Rothmans International until 1999. History Cambridge was launched in 1870 by Philip Morris. In December 1981, the United Press International reported that the safest cigarettes in terms of tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide were ''"Cambridge Filters"'', ''"Carlton Filters"'' and ''"Now 100s Filters"''. All three brands emerged from the Federal Trade Commission tests with less than 0.5 milligrams of tar, less than 0.05 milligrams of nicotine and less than 0.5 milligrams of carbon monoxide. The Holden Monaro ( ) is a rear-wheel drive coupé manufactured by General Motors Holden in Australia from 1968 to 1975 and later reintroduced from 2001 to 2005. It was also manufactured as a 4-door sedan from 1973 to 1977. Green Shield Stamps was a British sales promotion scheme that rewarded shoppers with stamps that could be used to buy gifts from a catalogue or from any affiliated retailer. The scheme was introduced in 1958 by Richard Tompkins, who had noticed the success of the long-established Sperry & Hutchinson Green Stamps in America. For just a few years, the scheme was so widely adopted that it was referenced in rock songs. But it suffered when Tesco ceased to use it, as part of a price-cutting policy that became standard nationwide. To retain business, Green Shield allowed customers to buy gifts from the catalogue with a mix of stamps and cash, but soon the catalogue became cash-only, and the operation was re-branded as Argos. Anthony Ferraro Louis Barber (born 28 March 1940) is a British Australian Gold Logie award-winning television game show host, radio announcer singer and media personality, who has been active in the industry since the early 1960s. Biography Early life and radio career Barber was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England in March 1940. He has said that he "owes much of his enthusiastic and driving personality to a loving Irish grandma and a whole street full of aunts who kept the spirits high during the dark years of World War II."
