Camboriú Futebol Clube, commonly known as Camboriú, is a Brazilian football club based in Camboriú, Santa Catarina state. The club was formerly known as Sociedade Desportiva Camboriuense. History The club was founded on 11 April 2003, as Sociedade Desportiva Camboriuense. They won the Campeonato Catarinense Third Level in 2006. The club was renamed to Camboriú Futebol Clube on 24 April 2009. Camboriú is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the states of Brazil, state of Santa Catarina (state), Santa Catarina in the South Region, Brazil, South region of Brazil, near Balneario Camboriu, a popular beach destination. Toponym The toponym "Camboriú" is a reference to the Camboriú River. It's a name with origin in the Tupi language which means "river of the common snook", through ''kamuri'' (snook) and '''y'' (river). Another hypothesis is that the Indigenous peoples, indigenous origin inspires itselve in the relief of the Pedra Branca, a hill that resembles a female breast and is visible through several points in the municipality. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. The Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, known as Campeonato Catarinense or simply Catarinense, is the main competition of association football from state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. History The Campeonato Catarinense top level has had several different names since it started. From its first edition, in 1924, to 1985, it was called just Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina Championship). From 1986 to 2003, it was named Campeonato Catarinense Primeira Divisão (Santa Catarina Championship Premier Division). In 2004 and in 2005, the competition name was Série A1, and since 2006, the competition is named Divisão Principal (Top Division). 2022 Campeonato Catarinense
The 2022 Campeonato Catarinense (officially the Catarinense Fort Atacadista 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 97th season of Santa Catarina's top-flight football league organized by FCF. The season began on 22 January and ended on 2 April 2022. Avaí were the defending champions but were eliminated in the quarter-finals. The finals were played between Brusque and Camboriú. Tied 1–1 on aggregate, Brusque won their second title due to having a better performance in the first stage. Format The tournament was contested between 12 teams, who first played in a single round-robin tournament. In the first stage, the bottom two teams were relegated to next year's Série B.
