Callatis Club
Callatis Club is a post-festival show aired every year during the Callatis Festival on the Romanian TV channel TVR 2. The show was hosted in 2006 by Cătălin Măruță, and by Leonard Miron in 2008 and most of the singers who performed on the stage of the festival are invited. In 2006, several scandals emerged during this show. The most important was the one between the host Gabriel Cotabiţă and the singer Cream, the latter disputing Cotabiţă's competence as a general producer of the festival. Callatis Festival
Callatis Festival is the largest music and culture festival held in Romania. Location The festival is held on a barge that is docked at Mangalia Marina. The barge consists of a huge stage and a very large backstage area, enough to hold over 200 people. The spectators sit on stairs across the harbor, about away from the stage. History The Callatis Festival began in 1999 and has expanded ever since. Dates The Callatis Festival is held every summer between 8 and 15 August. The main part of the festival (the concerts on the stage) takes begins at 21:00 and ends after midnight. This part of the festival is aired live on TVR 2 and TVR International. Hosts From 1999 to 2003, the hosts of the Callatis Festival changed every year. TVR 2
TVR 2 (, spelled out as ''Televiziunea Română 2'', "Romanian Television 2") is the second channel of the public broadcaster TVR. The channel was launched on May 2, 1968, but it was suspended from January 20, 1985, until February 19, 1990. From 2003, it has been a market leader in Romania with some very well thought television shows, such as ''Tonomatul DP2'' and the British television series ''Doctor Who'', but since 2015, it has been a general arts and culture channel. The main news television program of the channel is ''Ora de ştiri'' ("News Hour"), which is aired daily at 6:00 PM Romanian time. Cătălin Măruță
Cătălin Constantin Măruță (born 27 January 1978) is a Romanian television host. Career He currently presents the "''La Măruță''" show on Pro TV. Since June 2002, he has been the host of the "''Tonomatul DP2''" show on TVR 2. For a few months, at the end of 2005, he worked for Realitatea TV, where he presented another morning show called "''Trezeşte-te la realitate cu Cătălin Măruță''" ("Wake up to reality with Cătălin Măruță"). Alongside singer Luminița Anghel, he presented the Romanian National Eurovision Selection in 2006 and also hosted a post festival party where all the singers and producers were invited. Leonard Miron
Leonard Miron (born April 11, 1969) is a Romanian television and radio presenter and journalist and works for Romanian National Television (''Televiziunea Română''). He was born in Galaţi, Romania but was brought up in Piteşti and graduated from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy before starting a career in media. He speaks fluent English and French as well as German and Spanish. He has worked on a number of different television programmes, but is best known for presenting music shows and galas such as the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Since September 2005 he has been living in London, where he has been studying for a Ph.D. in London and working at the same time as a flight attendant for a London-based airline.
