Caledonia AIA
Morvant Caledonia United (formerly known as Caledonia AIA) is a professional football team in Trinidad and Tobago's top-level TT Pro League. It is based in Morvant; its home stadium is Hasely Crawford Stadium. History The Caledonia AIA Football Club was founded in May 1979 by a group of schoolboys from the Morvant, Laventille, San Juan and Barataria environs; one of whom included current owner Jamaal Shabazz. The Club has a franchise in the TT Pro League and runs a full professional team; employing 28 players and 7 staff on a full-time basis. Apart from the professional team the Club runs a Youth Academy and Youth teams in Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 age groups, catering for over just over one hundred children at a recreational level. Caledonia AIA was crowned Caribbean Club Champions in 2012 and represented the Caribbean in the CONCACAF Champions League. Hasely Crawford Stadium
The Hasely Crawford Stadium, formerly the National Stadium, is located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It was inaugurated and formally opened by Prime Minister George Chambers on 12 June 1982. On 30 December 1996, Prime Minister Basdeo Panday officially designated it "The Hasely Crawford Stadium", after the first person from Trinidad and Tobago to win an Olympic gold medal. History The stadium, which is sometimes used by the Trinidad and Tobago national football team, hosted the final of the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship. It also hosted games at the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Currently the stadium has a capacity of 22,575 with the installation of individual seats. Eden Charles (born 29 October 1993) is a Saint Lucian international footballer who plays as a striker for Monchy United. Club career Charles has played for Northern United All Stars of the Saint Lucia Gold Division since 2009. In 2012, he, along with fellow-Saint Lucian Jamil Joseph, trialed at Carlisle United FC of League One as part of an agreement between the Saint Lucia Football Association and the club. The 1998 Caribbean Football Union Club Championship was an international club football competition held in the Caribbean to determine the region's qualifiers to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. CFU Club Championship
The Caribbean Club Championship, also known as the CFU Club Championship or CFU Club Champions' Cup, was an annual international football competition held amongst association football clubs that are members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The Caribbean Club Championship served as a qualifying event for the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. The tournament was officially the Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship for sponsorship reasons from 2018 to 2022. With the expansion of the CONCACAF Champions League starting from the 2024 edition, the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Club Championship was the last held. Following a pullout by Courts after three years, Digicel became the new branding partner of the competition. The tournament commenced on 17 November 2009 with 10 teams competing in single elimination matches and concluded with the final on 11 December. The 2012 Trinidad and Tobago League Cup was the thirteenth season of the ''First Citizens Cup'', which is the league cup competition for Trinidad and Tobago teams competing in the TT Pro League. Caledonia AIA entered as the cup holders having defeated T&TEC by a score of 2–1 in the 2011 final. Continuing from previous seasons, the slogan for the year's league cup was ''No Room for Losers'' and was sponsored by First Citizens Bank for the twelfth consecutive year. To keep with the tag-line, the year's edition only rewarded prizes to the cup winners and runner-up.
