Calaigh Copland (born 12 March 1987) is a footballer who plays for Unionville Milliken SC in League1 Ontario. Born in Canada, she represented the Guyana women's national team. Early life Copland was born in Ottawa and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. She later played at the senior amateur level with Peterborough City SC. College career From 2006 to 2009, she attended Seneca College, playing for the women's soccer team. She was named an East Division All-Star in the 2008/09 season. In 2009, she moved to the Ryerson University. In her debut season with Ryerson, she was named an OUA Second-Team All Star, leading the Rams in goals with six. Leonora, Guyana
Leonora is a village in Essequibo Islands-West Demerara (Region 3), one of Guyana's 10 regions. Its subdivisions are Pasture, Sea Field, Para Field, Groenveldt and Sea Spray. The neighboring villages are Anna Catherina and Uitvlugt. Leonora encompasses an area of about , once part of the Parish of St. Luke. It stretches from Edinburgh in the east to Stewartville in the west, and from the Atlantic Ocean in the north, to the south as far as the West Demerara Water Conservancy. Leonora was named after the historical 7,942 acre Leonora sugar plantation, which operated from before 1789 until the Leonora Estate sugar factory was closed down in December 1986. The plantation was named after the two children of the owner: Leo and Nora. Leonora is home to the Synthetic Track and Field Facility, a multi-sport stadium seating 3,000 people. Synthetic Track And Field Facility
The Synthetic Track and Field Facility in Leonora, Guyana is a 3000-seat multi-sport facility that is used by football club Slingerz FC as their home stadium. It is also used to host youth sports events. In 2018, it hosted six matches of the 2018 CONCACAF Women's Championship qualification, three featuring Guyana and three featuring other teams. Construction Costing approximately G$1.084 billion (US$ million), the facility officially began construction in December 2010 and was split into two phases. Phase one consisted of drain and irrigation works and the main access road, whilst Phase two consisted of making the actual track and other sports fields. Early on, the facility was scheduled to be opened on 27 March 2015, but was postponed 17 April.
