Cal Poly Mustangs Men's Soccer
The Cal Poly Mustangs men's soccer program represents the Cal Poly Mustangs of California Polytechnic State University in men's soccer at the NCAA Division I level. Like most teams from Cal Poly, they play in the Big West Conference. Since becoming eligible in the mid-1990s, Cal Poly has appeared in 3 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournaments, most recently in 2015. The Mustangs, coached by Oige Kennedy, play at Mustang Memorial Field Presented by Dignity Health French Hospital Medical Center (capacity of 11,075) on the campus of the California Polytechnic State University. 1987 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship
The 1987 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship was the 16th annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. Southern Connecticut State defeated Cal State Northridge, 2–0, to win their first Division II national title. The Fighting Owls (17-1-3) were coached by Bob Dikranian. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos Men's Soccer
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's soccer team is an NCAA Division I college soccer team composed of student-athletes attending the University of California, Santa Barbara. The Gauchos play their home matches at Harder Stadium. Like most of the other UC Santa Barbara Gauchos athletic teams, the men's soccer team competes in the Big West Conference. The UCSB Gauchos won the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The program has produced a total of 19 All-American selections, all but one of which since 2002, and over 60 players who have gone on to play professionally or represent their senior national teams. Big West
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season. Among the conference's 11 member institutions, 10 are located in California (with 9 located in Southern California alone) and one is located in Hawaii. Paul Holocher
Paul Holocher (born May 24, 1969 in Seattle, Washington ) is a former U.S. soccer midfielder who played in Austria and Major League Soccer. He also earned one caps with the U.S. national team in 1996. He was the Academy Director for MLS club Houston Dynamo. College Holocher attended Santa Clara University where he played for future national team coach Steve Sampson from 1988 to 1991. In 1989, the Broncos were NCAA co-champions with the University of Virginia. In 1990, Holocher was a third team All-American and ended his four seasons with the Broncos as the team's all-time career scorer. Wolfgang Gartner
Joseph Thomas Youngman (born March 17, 1982), better known by his stage name Wolfgang Gartner, is an American DJ and music producer. Much of his music prior to 2010 was released through his own record label, Kindergarten, but he signed with Ultra Records in 2010 and Ministry of Sound in the UK in 2011. Biography Background Youngman created the Wolfgang Gartner name in late 1999 after establishing a successful name as a deep house DJ. Not wanting to be criticized for such an abrupt departure in style, Youngman created the name anonymously. Gartner's identity was revealed officially in July 2008. Youngman took the name from the coach of the Cal Poly Mustangs men's soccer team. The current Wolfgang Gartner logo was created in 2010 by New York graffiti artist Eric Haze who created logos for the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and EPMD. Ryshiem Henderson
Ryshiem Henderson is a retired U.S. soccer forward who played at least two seasons in USISL and three games in Major League Soccer with the San Jose Clash. The official Major League Soccer records have incorrectly spelled Henderson’s first name as Ryseheim. Early life Henderson attended Blackford High School where he was an outstanding prep soccer forward and football defensive back. In 1990, he played in the annual Silicon Valley Youth Classic football game. College career Henderson then played college soccer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 1990–91 to 1994–95. Curt Apsey
Curt Brian Apsey (born 1962) is an American sports administrator who was the athletic director of Boise State University from 2015 to 2020. He joined the San Diego State athletic department in 2021. Education Apsey graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He was a four-year starter for the men's soccer team, setting the school's career record for most goals scored (52). The American Soccer League has been a name used by four different professional soccer sports leagues in the United States. The second American Soccer League was established in summer 1933 following the collapse of the original American Soccer League, which lasted from 1921 until spring 1933. North American Soccer League (1968–1984)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was the top-level major professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1968 to 1984. It was the first soccer league to be successful on a national scale in the United States.
