Cal Gardner
Calvin Pearly "Ginger, Red, Torchy" Gardner (October 30, 1924 – October 10, 2001) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player in the NHL. In 1943, after playing professional hockey for three years and winning the Memorial Cup, he joined the Canadian military and took part in World War II. At the conclusion of the war, he once again began playing professional hockey, joining the New York Rangers affiliate, the New York Rovers. With the Rovers, Gardner would centre a line with fellow Manitobans Church Russell and Rene Trudell. The trio were dominate, with all three players being called up to the Rangers and making their debut on February 10, 1946. From their debut, the trio remained intact as a line until December 1947, with the unit being nicknamed "Whiz Kids" and the "rover-boy line." Callen James Adomitis (born July 9, 1998) is an American football long snapper for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Pittsburgh. Early life and high school Adomitis was born on July 9, 1998, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Central Catholic High School there, earning varsity letters in football and playing the tight end and long snapper positions. College career Adomitis committed to the University of Pittsburgh, and saw immediate playing time as a true freshman playing long snapper. He played in all 12 games, and also made two tackles. He appeared in 14 games as a sophomore, making four tackles on the year. He played in all 13 games in 2019 as a junior, making four tackles again. Calvin Coolidge Worthington (November 27, 1920 – September 8, 2013) was an American car dealer, best known on the West Coast of the United States, and to a more limited extent elsewhere, from minor appearances and parodies in a number of movies. He was best known for his unique radio and television advertisements for the Worthington Dealership Group, most of which began with the announcement "Here's Cal Worthington and his dog Spot!"—though "Spot" was never a dog. Often, Spot was a tiger, a seal, an elephant, a chimpanzee, or a bear. In one ad, "Spot" was a hippopotamus, which Worthington rode in the commercial. On some occasions, "Spot" was a vehicle, such as an airplane on whose wings Worthington would be seen standing while airborne. John Calvin Thomas (born 2 December 1942) is an American syndicated columnist, author and radio commentator. Early life and education Thomas was born in 1942 in Washington, D.C. He attended the American University for his undergraduate education. Career During the 1960s and early 1970s he worked as a reporter at NBC News. During a hiatus in his undergraduate education, he joined the U.S. Army, and served at the Armed Forces Radio in New York. His program on CNBC was nominated for a CableACE Award in 1995. Cal Stoll
Calvin C. Stoll (December 12, 1923 – August 25, 2000) was an American football player and coach. He played Defensive End for the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the 1948 and 1949 seasons. Before graduating from Minnesota in June 1950, Stoll was named the head coach at Mound High School (later renamed to Mound Westonka High School) on May 10, 1950. At Mound High School, he achieved a 6-1 record and a Lake Conference co-championship. After the 1950 high school football season, Stoll jumped to the college ranks where he served as an assistant coach from 1951 to 1968. As an assistant coach at Michigan State, he helped the team achieve back to back National Championships in 1965 and 1966. Calvin Grant Shofner (April 7, 1932 – October 10, 2013), known professionally as Cal Smith, was an American country musician, most famous for his 1974 hits " Country Bumpkin" and " It's Time to Pay the Fiddler". Career Calvin Grant Shofner was born on April 7, 1932, in Gans, Oklahoma, as the youngest of three sons of James "Otto" and Ethel (Quinn) Shofner. During the Great Depression, the Smiths headed west and settled in Oakland, California, and he grew up in San Jose, California. Smith began his music career performing at the Remember Me Cafe in San Francisco at the age of 15, but he was not financially successful at first. Calvin "Cal" Schenkel (born January 27, 1947, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania) is an American illustrator, graphic designer, animator and comics artist, specializing in album cover design. He was the main graphic arts collaborator for rock musician Frank Zappa and was responsible for the design of many Zappa album covers.
