CZ 85
The CZ 85 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered for 9×19mm Parabellum.The Complete Encyclopedia of Pistols and Revolvers, A.E. Hartink, page 108 It was manufactured in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) by Česká Zbrojovka. It is an updated version of the CZ 75, with slight changes made to internal parts to increase reliability. It has an ambidextrous safety switch and slide stop, making the pistol suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. CZ weapons are known for their long service life and high reliability while using various types of cartridges. The CZ 85 was developed because the CZ 75 had no patents protecting the design, and the CZ 75 was copied in other countries with unlicensed versions. Semi-automatic Pistol
A semi-automatic pistol is a type of repeating single-chamber handgun ( pistol) that automatically cycles its action to insert the subsequent cartridge into the chamber (self-loading), but requires manual actuation of the trigger to actually discharge the following shot. As a result, only one round of ammunition is fired each time the trigger is pulled, as the pistol's fire control group disconnects the trigger mechanism from the firing pin/ striker until the trigger has been released and reset. Additional terms sometimes used as synonyms for a semi-automatic pistol are self-loading pistol, autopistol, autoloading pistol, and automatic pistol (E.G.: Automatic Colt Pistol). 9×19mm Parabellum
The 9×19mm Parabellum (also known as 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger or simply 9mm) is a rimless, tapered firearms cartridge. Originally designed by Austrian firearm designer Georg Luger in 1901, it is widely considered the most popular handgun and submachine gun cartridge due to its low cost and extensive availability. It is a standard cartridge for NATO forces as well as in many non-NATO countries. Since the cartridge was designed for the Luger semi-automatic pistol, it has been given the designation of 9mm Luger by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) and the Commission internationale permanente pour l'épreuve des armes à feu portatives (CIP). The CZ 75 is a semi-automatic pistol made by Czech firearm manufacturer ČZUB. First introduced in 1975, it is one of the original " wonder nines" and features a staggered-column magazine, all-steel construction, and a hammer forged barrel. It is widely distributed throughout the world and is the most common handgun in the Czech Republic. NZ 85B
The Norinco NZ-85B is a Chinese copy of the Czech pistol, the CZ 85, which was an improved version of the legendary Czech pistol, the CZ 75. Design The pistol design is based on the Czech CZ 85, specifically the CZ 85B, which is a modernization of the old CZ 85. It has a firing pin block safety (which grants more safety to the user than the old manual safety, similar to that of the Browning Hi-Power, which did not decock the hammer), squared off trigger guard (for better handling of the weapon), a ring hammer (for easy cocking and decocking of the hammer), and tri-dot sights (for better aiming capabilities than the old system of front blade and a rear square notch).
