CJ Major Entertainment
CJ Major Entertainment is a South Korean–Thai film production company based in Thailand. It was established in 2016 as a joint venture between South Korean media company CJ E&M (owner of the studio CJ Entertainment), which owns a 49-percent stake, and Major Cineplex Group, Thailand's largest cinema chain, which owns 51 percent in the venture. The partnership is part of CJ Entertainment's strategy of partnering with local companies to produce works from Korean source materials localised for regional audiences. Yeonu Choi serves as CJ Major's managing director and chief producer. CJ E&M (Hangul: 씨제이이앤엠, an initialism for CJ Entertainment & Media) is a South Korean entertainment and mass media company created by CJ Group in 2011. As of July 2018, CJ E&M is a division of CJ ENM. History CJ E&M was established as O Media Holdings in 2010. CJ Entertainment (Hangul: CJ 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean film production and distribution company under CJ ENM. The company operates as a film production company, film publishing house, investment and exhibition. History During early 1995, Cheil Jedang invested in the upstart film company DreamWorks SKG, and in June of the same year, Cheil Jedang established Multimedia Division. ''Dew'', known in Thai as ''Dew, '' ( 'Dew, let's go together') is a 2019 Thai drama film directed by Chookiat Sakveerakul and released by CJ Major Entertainment. It stars Sukollawat Kanaros, Sadanont Durongkavarojana, Pawat Chittsawangdee, Darisa Karnpoj and Yarinda Bunnag. The film tells the story of Pob and Dew, teenage boys who develop feelings for each other amid the prevailing homophobic attitudes of 1990s Thai society, but then become parted. Two decades later, Pob, now married, returns to his hometown as a teacher, and meets a female student who reminds him of their past unfulfilled relationship. Chookiat Sakveerakul ( th, ชูเกียรติ ศักดิ์วีระกุล, ), born 1981 in Chiang Mai, Thailand) is a Thai film director and screenwriter. He is also credited as Ma-Deaw Chukiatsakwirakul or Matthew Chukiat Sakwirakul. Chookiat's first feature-length film was an ensemble drama, ''The Passenger of Li'', which was an independent production. His next film was ''Pisaj'', a 2004 horror film produced by Sahamongkol Film International.
