CINDACTA
The air traffic control centers of Brazil are known by the acronym CINDACTA, or "Centro Integrado de Defesa Aérea e Controle de Tráfego Aéreo (Integrated Air Traffic Control and Air Defense Center). Four CINDACTAs are in operation, located in four cities and each responsible for different regions of Brazil's airspace. *Cindacta I located in Brasília, near Pres. Aerospace Operations Command
The Aerospace Operations Command ( pt, Comando de Operações Aeroespaciais - COMAE) is a Brazilian space command, air and space command created in 2017 and is part of the Brazilian Air Force. Is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing and controlling the country's air and space operations. The Brazilian Navy and Brazilian Army also are part of the organization. Brasília International Airport
Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport is the only international airport serving Brasília. The airport was named after Juscelino Kubitschek (1902–1976), the 21st President of Brazil. It is located in the administrative region of Lago Sul, in the Federal District, operated by Inframerica. Some of its facilities are shared with the Brasília Air Force Base of the Brazilian Air Force. Bacacheri Airport
Bacacheri Airport is an airport in Curitiba, Brazil. It is named after the neighbourhood where it is located. It is operated by CCR S.A., CCR. History The history of Bacacheri airport begins in 1930 as an air field for Military Aviation. In 1942 the Ministry of Air Force officially upgraded the facility to the status of an Air Force Base. On March 31, 1980 Bacacheri Air Force Base was de-commissioned and its administration handled over to Infraero. However, Bacacheri still has a strong military presence because the Brazilian Integrated Air Traffic Control and Air Defense Center section 2 (CINDACTA, Cindacta II) is located in the vicinity of the airport. Manaus International Airport – Eduardo Gomes is the airport serving Manaus, Brazil. It is named after Brazilian politician and military figure Air Marshal Eduardo Gomes (1896–1981). It is operated by Vinci Airports History Manaus International Airport replaced Ponta Pelada Airport as the main public airport of Manaus in 1976. Ponta Pelada was then renamed Manaus Air Force Base and began handling exclusively military operations. The construction of the airport began in 1972 and it was commissioned on March 31, 1976 by a domestic flight operated by a Boeing 727-100 of Serviços Aéreos Cruzeiro do Sul. National Air Traffic Controllers Association
The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) is a labor union in the United States. It is affiliated with the AFL–CIO, and is the exclusive bargaining representative for air traffic controllers employed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It also represents a range of workers related to the air traffic control (ATC) industry, and the FAA itself. NATCA was certified on June 19, 1987 and formed to replace the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (PATCO), which had been decertified following the well known 1981 air-traffic controllers' strike. NATCA promised to never condone an illegal strike but does actively pressure Congress and the FAA to hire more controllers and to accelerate the installation of advanced air traffic control systems.
