The 1997 Caribbean Football Union Club Championship was an international club football competition held in the Caribbean to determine the region's qualifiers to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. CFU Club Championship
The Caribbean Club Championship, also known as the CFU Club Championship or CFU Club Champions' Cup, was an annual international football competition held amongst association football clubs that are members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The Caribbean Club Championship served as a qualifying event for the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. The tournament was officially the Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship for sponsorship reasons from 2018 to 2022. With the expansion of the CONCACAF Champions League starting from the 2024 edition, the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Club Championship was the last held. Instead, a regional cup tournament will be launched as a qualifying tournament of the CONCACAF Champions League for teams from the Caribbean, besides those which qualify directly through their professional leagues. Peter Prospar
Peter Prosper (born 11 November 1969) is a Trinidadian former footballer who played as a striker. Prosper spent his club career between Trinidad and Tobago and Lebanon, playing for United Petrotrin, Al Ansar, South Starworld Strikers, San Juan Jabloteh, Akhaa Ahli Aley, Al Mabarra, and Racing Beirut. He also played for the Trinidad and Tobago national team between 1996 and 2003, representing them at the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Early life Prosper was a student at the Presentation College in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. Club career Prosper began his senior career at TT Pro League club United Petrotrin during the 1995 season. After two seasons in Trinidad and Tobago, in 1996 Prosper moved to Lebanon, joining Lebanese Premier League reigning champions Al Ansar. Paul Davis (footballer Born 1962)
Paul Davis (born 1962), also referred to as Tegat Davis, is a former Jamaican international football player. Career Club In 1991, he was awarded the top goalscorer and the most valuable player awards at the 1991 Caribbean Cup. He played for Seba United F.C. in the Jamaican Premier Division and also played in Israel for four years. He now works as a manager. International Davis won 61 caps for Jamaica at the senior level and scored 18 goals. Management career From 2010 to 2012 he worked as the manager of Arnett Gardens. In 2016, Davis was named manager of Montego Bay United. In this season Davis led them to a 3rd place finish in the regular. In the playoffs that same season, they defeated Arnett Gardens 4-3 on aggregates in semifinals then later defeated Portmore United 2-1 in the finals. Theodore Eccleston Whitmore, OD (born 5 August 1972) is a Jamaican former professional footballer. He is the former head coach of Jamaica national football team. Club career Whitmore attended St. James High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica. During his late teens, he worked as a Baked Goods delivery assistant with National Continental Foods, now National Baking Company, in Montego Bay before moving on to play football in the Jamaica National Premiere League. Sport Vereniging Transvaal is a Surinamese association football club, which currently play in the Eerste Divisie, the top flight of football in Suriname. Seba United
Montego Bay United Football Club is a Jamaican football club based in Montego Bay. History Founded as ''Beacon'' in 1972, the club were renamed ''Seba United'' after a few years and has won the Jamaica National Premier League in 1987 and 1997, the most famous one was in the 1996/97 season when they were docked twenty points but still found a way to the lift the title. The club used to play their home games at Jarrett Park, which can hold a capacity of up to 4,000, and is located in Montego Bay.
