C4 (rapper)
C4 is a grime MC from Birmingham, England. He's known for his songs "Off Track" and "Crazy Song", both of which were playlisted on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Biography C4's real name is Chanda Gerald from which he derived the C in C4. As a boy, C4 sang in his local church choir. His older brother is the garage producer Preditah. In November 2011, C4 released "OoRITE Time", produced by Preditah. In 2012 he released "Off Track", along with a remix by grime crew Boy Better Know that features JME, Jammer and Frisco. In September 2012 C4 released "Crazy Song", with production by Mike Delinquent. In 2015, C4 released the major tune ''Go back'' featuring JME. Grime (music)
Grime is a genre of electronic music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of the earlier UK dance style UK garage, and draws influences from jungle, dancehall, and hip hop. The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 140 beats per minute, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound. Emceeing is a significant element of the style, and lyrics often revolve around gritty depictions of urban life. The style initially spread among pirate radio stations and underground scenes before achieving some mainstream recognition in the UK during the mid-2000s through artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Lethal Bizzle, and Wiley. Boy Better Know, often abbreviated as BBK, is a British grime collective and record label. The collective was founded in North London in 2005 as an independent record label by brothers Jamie and Joseph Adenuga, better known as Jme, and Skepta. The first of them also serves as a sole owner and director of an associated company, ''Boy Better Know Limited'', incorporated in 2008. All members of the collective use the record label as a means to publish their music, and is digitally distributed by The Orchard, a subsidiary of Sony Music. The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) () is an American not-for-profit performance-rights organization (PRO) that collectively licenses the public performance rights of its members' musical works to venues, broadcasters, and digital streaming services (music stores).
