C4 (TV Channel)
C4 was a New Zealand television channel owned and operated by MediaWorks New Zealand. C4 was available on both digital terrestrial and satellite platforms and played music around the clock, including from their radio side from The Rock, The Edge, The Breeze, More FM, George FM, Mai FM & The Sound. C4 also aired a lot of speciality music shows such as ''HomeGrown'', ''Top 10/100'', ''Video Hits'', ''Fade To Black'', ''Steel Mill'' and ''Biggest Records Right Now''. The channel was originally launched in October 2003 as a re-branding of TV4 which had been broadcasting since 1997. ''Pimp My Ride'' is an American television series produced by MTV and hosted by rapper Xzibit, which ran for six seasons on MTV from 2004 to 2007. In each episode, a car in poor condition is both restored and customized. The work on the show was done by West Coast Customs until season 5 when Galpin Auto Sports took over. The show had several international adaptations, including ''Pimp My Ride UK'', ''Pimp My Ride International'' (in central Europe), and other adaptations in Brazil, Indonesia and the Baltic countries. NZ On Air (NZOA; mi, Irirangi te Motu), formally the Broadcasting Commission, is an autonomous Crown entity and commission of the New Zealand Government responsible for funding support for broadcasting and creative works. The commission operates largely separate from government policy but must follow directions from the Minister of Broadcasting. NZOA is responsible for the funding of public broadcasting content across television, radio and other media platforms. It is also a major investor in New Zealand independent producers. ''The Official NZ Top 40'' was a NZ made music countdown television show which is a countdown of the New Zealand Singles Chart music. It uses the official chart produced by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand. While the RIANZ charts are published for the week ending Monday, and published on Tuesday, The Official NZ Top 40 shows on Saturday evenings usually at 6pm unless changed due to other events. The Official NZ Top 40 is also replayed on C4 again on Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm which is an extended version of the show. Select Live and Select were music video request shows that screened every day on the C4 music channel in New Zealand. The shows operated for fifty weeks a year from 2003 to 2010, with videos added to the playlist each week. The original format show, Select, originally played every day from 4:00pm to 7:00pm but later only aired on weekend days during this timeslot. This show did not have a presenter; special "text codes" scrolled along the bottom of the screen and corresponded to a particular song. The Select Live format screened weekdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Songs to be played were requested by sending an SMS message of a particular format to a designated number.
