Woudenberg
Woudenberg () is a municipality and a town in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. There are forests in the western part of the municipality. The Pyramid of Austerlitz is located in the municipality. Etymology The name Woudenberg refers to a forested hill; nowadays the town lies in an agricultural area about 8 km south of Amersfoort. Currently, most people work out of town, mostly in the surrounding towns of Amersfoort, Utrecht and Veenendaal. Pyramid Of Austerlitz
The Pyramid of Austerlitz is a 36-metre-high pyramid of earth, built in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers on one of the highest points of the Utrecht Hill Ridge, in the municipality of Woudenberg, the Netherlands. Atop the pyramid is a stone obelisk from 1894. History In 1804, the French General Auguste de Marmont established an army camp (''le Camp d'Utrecht'') in this central location in the Batavian Republic, the present Netherlands, where over a period of several months he forged together various battalions into a large, well-trained army, capable of beating the British enemy should there be any repetition of the invasion of 1799. Ricky van Wolfswinkel (; born 27 January 1989) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a striker for Eredivisie club FC Twente. He has played top-flight football in the Netherlands, Portugal, England, France, Spain and Switzerland and has been capped twice by the Netherlands national team. Erik Verlinde
Erik Peter Verlinde (; born 21 January 1962) is a Dutch theoretical physicist and string theorist. He is the identical twin brother of physicist Herman Verlinde. The Verlinde formula, which is important in conformal field theory and topological field theory, is named after him. His research deals with string theory, gravity, black holes and cosmology. Currently, he works at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Amsterdam. At a symposium at the Dutch Spinoza-institute on December 8, 2009 he introduced a theory of entropic gravity. Barneveld () is a municipality in the province of Gelderland in the center of the Netherlands. It is known for its poultry industry and large Protestant community. Leusden
Leusden () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It is located about 3 kilometres southeast of Amersfoort. The western part of the municipality lies on the slopes of the Utrecht Hill Ridge and is largely covered by forest and heathlands.
