Woodlands Wellington FC
Woodlands Wellington Football Club is an inactive professional football club which played in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. They are based in Woodlands at the 4,300 seater Woodlands Stadium, where they have played since their establishment. Woodlands Wellington FC's honours include winning the inaugural Singapore League Cup in 2007, defeating Sengkang Punggol FC 4–0 in the final. They also finished runners-up in the Singapore FA Cup in 1997, and also in the Singapore Cup in 2005 and 2008 and won the President's Centennial Cup in 1998, a cup competition organized by the Philippine Football Federation to celebrate the centennial of Philippine Independence by defeating Hong Kong Rangers FC 2–1 in the final in Bacolod. Woodlands Stadium
Woodlands Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Woodlands, Singapore. It is currently the home ground of S.League side, Woodlands Wellington FC, and used mostly for football matches for both the S.League and Prime League competitions. Apart from being used for competitive matches, the pitch is also used by the club for their training sessions as well. The stadium was officially opened in August 1989 as part of the eight hectare Woodlands Sports Complex, which also consists of the Woodlands Sports Hall and the Woodlands Swimming Complex. All three facilities are owned and operated by Sport Singapore. Woodlands Stadium houses a grass football pitch, an 8-lane running track and partial athletic facilities. People can be seen running around the track daily as Sport Singapore allows joggers to use the track facilities between 4:30am to 8:30pm for free. Sembawang
Sembawang is a planning area and residential town located in the North Region of Singapore. Sembawang planning area is bordered by Simpang to the east, Mandai to the south, Yishun to the southeast, Woodlands to the west and the Straits of Johor to the north. Borhan Abu Samah
Borhan Abu Samah (30 November 1964 – 29 October 1999) was a Singaporean footballer who played for the Singapore national team in the 1990s. He was a left-back best known for his hard-tackling and "bulldog" style of play, earning himself the nickname of the "Russian Tank". He made his international debut against Indonesia on 4 April 1987. Ervin Boban (born 17 March 1965 in Split) is a former Croatian professional football player, who is currently a coach for feeder club Johor Darul Ta'zim II. He started his career in professional football and coaching in his home town club, RNK Split. Boban was one of Malaysia's top foreign footballers from the late 1980s through the 1990s.
