Whitburn F.C.
Whitburn Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Whitburn, West Lothian. History Formed on 31 May 1930 as Whitburn Amateurs F.C., they turned Junior over the summer months of 1934. They play their home games at Central Park. Nicknamed ''The Burnie'', the club's colours are claret and amber. They presently play in the East of Scotland Football League. The club have won the Scottish Junior Cup on one occasion, defeating Johnstone Burgh on penalties in the 1999–00 final. The team was managed from 2014 to 2016 by former St Mirren boss Tom Hendrie. Whitburn, West Lothian
Whitburn (originally Whiteburn) is a small town in West Lothian, Scotland, halfway between Scotlands's two largest cities, about east of Glasgow and west of Edinburgh. The nearest major towns are Bathgate, and Livingston, . History Originally a small farming & weaving community centred around the burn that runs through, it was once a district of Linlithgow until 1973 and a parish of Livingston until 1730 when it established into its own as the population began to rise. When reliable statistics began with the Statistical Accounts of Scotland the population was counted at 1,322 in 1755 followed by a more accurately count of 1,322 in 1795. Whitburn has appeared on maps since the 17th century of the Early Modern period and appears on a manuscript authored by Scottish map maker John Adair in 1680. Brian Fairley
Brian Fairley (born 18 April 1959 in Falkirk) is a Scottish former association football manager. His coaching career began at Whitburn Juniors before going on to manage Stenhousemuir, however after a dispute with the board over a signing he resigned in October 2001. He then took over at Scottish Junior club Bo'ness United, but controversially resigned on the eve of a Scottish Junior Cup semifinal in March 2003 to become the manager at Dumbarton, along with assistant Allan McGonigal. At the time Dumbarton were in relegation trouble in the Scottish Second Division, but with only 6 games to go of the season he turned fortunes around and kept the club in the league, including a 4-1 win over league winners Raith Rovers.
