Tulu Cinema
Tulu cinema, also known as Coastalwood, is a part of Indian cinema. The Tulu film industry produces five to seven films annually. The first Tulu film was ''Enna Thangadi'' released in 1971. Usually, earlier, these films were released in theatres across the Tulu Nadu region. But currently the Tulu film industry has grown to such an extent that films are being released simultaneously in Mangalore, Udupi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Gulf countries. The critically acclaimed Tulu film '' Suddha'' won the award for the best Indian Film at the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema held in New Delhi in 2006. In 2011, the Tulu film Industry got a second lease of life with the release of the film ''Oriyardori Asal''. The film turned out to be the biggest hit in Tulu film history to date. Dr Devadas Kapikad is a Tulu film and theatre actor, director, writer, producer, lyricist and singer. He has also acted in some Kannada films. He owns a drama troupe called Cha-parka. Ranjith Kumar, popularly known as Ranjith Bajpe is an Indian film director and Screen Writer known for his work in Tulu cinema. He is best known for directing First International Tulu film ''Nirel'' (2014) which won 5 awards including the best movie award at Tulu Cinemotsava 2015. He also written directed '' Dhand'' (2015) which is the first Tulu language movie released in Israel Australia and UK. Ranjith Bajpe usually casts new actors for his movies. Early life Ranjith Bajpe was born on 9 December 1985, in Bajpe, in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka State. During his school days he acted in dramas and skits. ''Nirel'' () is a Tulu-language film directed by Ranjith Bajpe and produced jointly by Shodhan Prasad and San Poojary, starring Anoop Sagar, Varuna Shetty, Deepthi, Sachin Padil, Deepak Paladka .
