Terry Allen (born May 7, 1943) is an American musician and artist from Lubbock, Texas. Allen's musical career as a singer-songwriter has spanned many Texas country and outlaw country albums, and his work as a visual artist has included painting, conceptual art, performance, and sculpture, with a number of notable bronze sculptures installed publicly in various cities throughout the United States. He currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Allen has recorded twelve albums of original songs, including the landmark releases ''Juarez'' (1975) and ''Lubbock (On Everything)'' (1979). His song "Amarillo Highway" has been covered by Bobby Bare, Sturgill Simpson and Robert Earl Keen. Other artists who have recorded Allen's songs include Guy Clark, Little Feat, David Byrne, Doug Sahm, Ricky Nelson, and Lucinda Williams. Terry Allen (born June 27, 1957) is an American former college football player and coach. He last coached at Missouri State. He was the head coach at the University of Kansas from 1997 to 2001, where he compiled a 20–33 record. He also served as the head coach of the University of Northern Iowa, where his 75–26 record made him the winningest coach in Gateway Conference history. His teams won or shared the Gateway title from 1990 through 1996, during which time he was named the Gateway Coach of the Year five of those seasons. Terry Du'Aun Allen (born December 29, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Treviso Basket of the Lega Basket Serie A. He played college basketball for the University of Richmond before playing professionally in Hungary, France and Israel. Standing at , he plays at the power forward and small forward positions. Terry Allen (8 June 1924 – 8 April 1987) was an English flyweight boxer. During his career, he became British, Commonwealth, European and World flyweight champion. Family Born in Islington, London, Allen's father was a professional boxer. His mother died when he was two, and he was raised by his grandmother. Six of his cousins were also professional boxers. Amateur career He started boxing when he was nine and won a schoolboy championship. During his amateur career, he won 102 out of 107 contests. Terry Thomas Allen Jr. (born February 21, 1968) is a former American football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. Allen played college football for Clemson University. In the 1990 NFL Draft, he was selected in the ninth round by the Minnesota Vikings. Between 1992 and 1996, Allen had 4 consecutive seasons of rushing for 1,000 or more yards, minus the 1993 season which he missed completely due to an injury.
