Terego District
Terego is a district in Uganda's Northern Region. It is located approximately northwest of Uganda's capital Kampala. The administrative centre of the district is the trading centre of Leju in Aii-Vu Sub-County. Terego District covers an area of and the areas now making up the district recorded a non-refugee population of 199,303 in the 2014 Ugandan census. Terego District also hosts an estimated 168,000 refugees, mostly from South Sudan, in the Imvepi Refugee Settlement and the western zones of the Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement in the district. Geography Terego District is located in the West Nile region of northern Uganda and is a new district created out of Arua district. It borders the districts of Yumbe to the north, Madi-Okollo to the east, Arua to the south, and Maracha to the west. Districts Of Uganda
As of 17 November 2020, Uganda is divided into 136 districts and the capital city of Kampala, which are grouped into four administrative regions. Since 2005, the Ugandan government has been in the process of dividing districts into smaller units. Arua District
Arua District is a district in the Northern Region of Uganda. Like many other Ugandan districts, it shares its name with its administrative center of Arua. The name Arua is said to be derived from the Lugbara name for prison (Arujo) and prisoner (Aru), since the white settlers (Belgians and later British) had a detention center at Arua Hill. Parliament Of Uganda
The parliament of Uganda is the country's legislative body. Unicameral, the most significant of the Ugandan parliament's functions is to pass laws that will provide good governance in the country. The government ministers are bound to answer to the people's representatives on the floor of the house. Albert Nile
The White Nile ( ar, النيل الأبيض ') is a river in Africa, one of the two main tributaries of the Nile, the other being the Blue Nile. The name comes from the clay sediment carried in the water that changes the water to a pale color. Maracha District
Maracha District is a district in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda. It was formed in 2006 from Arua District. History Initially, the counties of Maracha and Terego were removed from Arua District to form a new, single district, which was also known as Maracha–Terego District or Nyadri District. From the district's inception, where to locate its headquarters had been a contentious issue. In February 2007, one group of elected officials from the district asked a court to block the location of the new district headquarters in an opposing location. After nearly five years of disagreement, Terego County opted to return to Arua District and Maracha County went on to form the new district on its own. Madi-Okollo
Madi Okollo is a District in the west nile region of Uganda. It is located in the northern part of Uganda Originally under Arua District comprising Rigbo, Ogoko Ewang, Inde town council, Rhino Camp Town council (all in lower madi) and Okollo, Uleppi, Offaka, Anyiribu, Okollo sub-counties and Okollo Town Council. Economic Activities The main economic activities in Madi Okollo county are fishing in the Nile and peasant farming of sesame and cotton.
