Stonehouse (Bristol Road) railway station, also known as Stroudwater station after the nearby canal, was a station in Stonehouse, England, on the Bristol and Gloucester Railway between Haresfield and Frocester. History The station was called, first and unofficially, Eastington Road and then, officially, Bristol Road to distinguish it from a second station, Stonehouse (Burdett Road), which was on the Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway, now the Golden Valley Line, between Gloucester and Swindon. Its proximity to the older Stroudwater Navigation, opened in 1779, led to this name also coming into local usage. Bristol Road station was the junction for the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway's branch line to Nailsworth, which later had a small branch line of its own to Stroud. } The Dar al-Hajar ( ar, دار الحجر, "Stone House" or "Rock Palace") is a former royal palace located in Wadi Dhar about from Sana‘a, Yemen. Built in the 1920s as the summer retreat of Yahya Muhammad Hamid ed-Din, ruler of Yemen from 1904 to 1948, it sits on top of a structure built in 1786 for the scholar al-Imam Mansour. The palace stayed in the royal family until the Yemen revolution of 1962. The palace is now a museum. The Sloan–Parker House, also known as the Stone House, Parker Family Residence, or Richard Sloan House, is a late-18th-century stone residence near Junction, Hampshire County, in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It was built on land vacated by the Shawnee after the Native American nation had been violently forced to move west to Kansas following their defeat at the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 5, 1975, becoming Hampshire County's first property to be listed on the register. The Clemuel Ricketts Mansion (also known as the Stone House, the William R. Ricketts House, and Ganoga) is a Georgian-style house made of sandstone, built in 1852 or 1855 on the shore of Ganoga Lake in Colley Township, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It was home to several generations of the Ricketts family, including R. Bruce Ricketts and William Reynolds Ricketts. Originally built as a hunting lodge, it was also a tavern and post office, and served as part of a hotel for much of the 19th century. After 1903 the house served as the Ricketts family's summer home; they kept it even as they sold over to the state of Pennsylvania from 1920 to 1950. Stone House (Taunton, Massachusetts)
The Stone House is an historic house at 15-17 Plain Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Built in 1847, this -story stone structure is one of only two stone houses built in Taunton in the 19th century. Its walls are fashioned out of coursed granite, and it has a single-story porch across its front facade, supported by stone piers. It was operated as a hostelry for seamen in the employ of some of Taunton's shipping magnates. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
