St. Louis Ambush (1992–2000)
The St. Louis Ambush was a professional indoor soccer team based in St. Louis, Missouri. Before they moved to St. Louis they were known as the Tulsa Ambush. History The Ambush were founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma: the team played one season at Tulsa's Expo Square Pavilion. Vernon Riggs was the general manager. Keith Dial was the managing general partner. Former Tulsa Roughneck and Major Indoor Soccer League player Victor Moreland was signed to be the player/coach. The Wichita-based ownership group had hoped to buy a Wichita NPSL franchise but moved forward with the team in Tulsa when the Wings remained in the MISL for the 1991–1992 season. When the Wings did join the NPSL for the 1992–93 season after the MISL folded with two other MISL teams (Cleveland and Baltimore) and after searching for Tulsa owners, the team was sold to St. Louis physicians Dr. Abraham Hawatmeh and Dr. Richard Rende in the summer of 1992. Kiel Center

Jorge Espinoza
Jorge Espinoza is a retired professional soccer player from Chile who played in the Major Indoor Soccer League and National Professional Soccer League. He also coached at the high school, collegiate and professional levels including two games with the San Jose Clash of Major League Soccer in 1999. Player From 1972 to 1979, Espinoza played for Colo Colo in Chile. In 1979, he moved to the United States and signed with the Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League. Over three seasons with the Sting, Espinoza was hampered by knee injuries and did not crack the first team. In 1981, he moved to the Memphis Americans in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Joe Reiniger
Joe Reiniger (born December 7, 1970 in Collinsville, Illinois) is a professional soccer player and coach. He grew up in Caseyville. Reiniger has played forward for the St. Louis Ambush, Milwaukee Wave, and the St. Louis Steamers. He went to college at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and graduated in 1993. He was selected in the first round of the NPSL amateur draft by the Ambush in 1993, and was named to the 1993-94 NPSL All-Rookie Team. While playing with the Wave, he was the MVP of the 2001 NPSL Championship. His number is 21. He plays forward and is left footed, but right-handed. He's married to Kim, and has a daughter named Jordyn. He resides in Collinsville. During the 2005-06 season while St. Louis Steamers head coach Omid Namazi was on a suspension, he served as the head coach. James Swanner (born January 13, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri) is a retired U.S. soccer goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper and current soccer coach. He was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic soccer team and earned one cap (sports), cap with the United States men's national soccer team, U.S. national team in 1984. He spent his entire professional career playing indoor soccer. Playing career High school and college Swanner attended Southwest High School in St. Louis. After graduating from high school, Swanner attended Clemson University, where he played as a goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper on the men's soccer team. Daryl Doran
Daryl Doran (born March 29, 1963) is a U.S. indoor soccer player. His 827 games are the most of any player in American professional indoor soccer history. Doran previously coached the St. Louis Ambush in the Major Arena Soccer League from 2013–2015. High school and college Doran grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he attended Christian Brothers College High School from 1977 to 1980. He was a four-year starter with the school's Varsity soccer team, finishing his career with 35 goals and 31 assists. He was named All-State three times and named Parade All-American twice. The local St. Louis Steamers of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) drafted Doran when he was in high school, but he declined the offer, and instead graduated and matriculated at St. Louis University. Steve Pecher
Steve Pecher (born St. Louis, Missouri) is an American former soccer defender who is currently the Missouri Girls Director of St Louis Scott Gallagher. Youth and college Pecher began playing soccer with the youth club, Florissant Cougars, then with his high school team at Normandy High School in St. Louis. He was part of the team which took the Missouri state championship in 1974, his senior year. He was also All State both his junior and senior years. The next year attended Florissant Valley Community College where he played on the national junior college championship team in 1975. He was a junior college All American both years at Florissant.
