National Professional Soccer League (1984–2001)
The National Professional Soccer League was a professional indoor soccer league in the US and Canada. It was originally called the American Indoor Soccer Association. History In November 1983, a Kalamazoo, Michigan-based group called Soccer Leagues Unlimited unveiled a plan for an indoor league composed exclusively of American players. The group's president, Bob Lemieux (later AISA commissioner), announced that Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Springfield, Illinois, were on board in what was he said was intended to be a sort of farm system, or developmental league, for the well established Major Indoor Soccer League (1978–92), Major Indoor Soccer League. Jason Dunn (soccer)
Jason Dunn (born October 4, 1971, in Olympia, Washington) is a retired American soccer forward. He was the 1994 American Professional Soccer League and the 1996-1997 National Professional Soccer League Rookies of the Year. He also earned three caps with the U.S. national team in 1994. He now lives in Arizona with his wife and three kids. High school and college Dunn grew up in Olympia, Washington, where he attended North Thurston High School. During his four seasons at North Thurston, Dunn was a four-time All-state soccer player. As a senior, the team won the Washington State championship. Dunn was selected as an All-American his senior season where he scored 34 goals and added 27 assists. Dunn graduated in 1990. Scott Hileman
Scott Hileman is a retired American soccer goalkeeper who played professionally in the Continental Indoor Soccer League and the National Professional Soccer League. He played two games for the United States national futsal team at the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship. Youth Hileman graduated from Marcos De Niza High School. In 1990, Hileman was goalkeeper for Marcos as it tied Brophy Prep in the Arizona Class 5-A state championship. The game is considered one of the greatest in Arizona secondary history, featuring six future professionals and one future national team member. Keith Tozer
Keith Tozer is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League, American Soccer League and American Indoor Soccer Association. He is currently the commissioner of the Major Arena Soccer League. Player College Tozer grew up in upstate New York. After graduating from high school, he attended Oneonta State from 1975 to 1979, where he played as a forward on the men's soccer team. He finished his four seasons at Oneonta with the school's all-time points record of 117 points off 50 goals and 17 assists. James Dunn is a retired American soccer defender who was the 2000 and 2001 National Professional Soccer League Defender of the Year. He also played in the American Professional Soccer League and the Continental Indoor Soccer League. Youth Dunn, twin brother of Jason Dunn, graduated from North Thurston High School where he won the 1990 Class AAA High School soccer championship. In 1990, he played a single season with the University of Washington men’s soccer team. He then transferred to Seattle Pacific University, playing on the men’s soccer team there from 1991 to 1993. Professional In 1994, Dunn signed with the Seattle Sounders of the American Professional Soccer League. Goran Hunjak (born 13 November 1965 in Yugoslavia) is a retired football player. Club career "Scorin" Goran Hunjak began his professional career in 1983 with for NK Zagreb in the Croatian First Division. In 1988, he moved to the United States and signed with the Wichita Wings in Major Indoor Soccer League. In 1992, the league collapsed and Hunjuk moved to the Baltimore Spirit in the National Professional Soccer League. Domenic Mobilio (January 14, 1969 – November 13, 2004) was a Canadian professional soccer player who played as a striker. Club career Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mobilio was a long-time member of the Vancouver 86ers turned Vancouver Whitecaps. He played 14 seasons beginning with the team in the Canadian Soccer League, later joining the American Professional Soccer League, before finishing up a Whitecap. Bernie Lilavois (born August 31, 1970 in Far Rockaway, New York) is an American soccer forward who played two seasons in the American Professional Soccer League, one in the USISL, one in the USL A-League, four in the Continental Indoor Soccer League, six in the National Professional Soccer League, and four in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He was the head coach of the Stockton Cougars in the Professional Arena Soccer League and the head coach of the US National Arena Soccer Team.
