Spiritualized Members
Spiritualized (stylised as Spiritualized®) are an English rock band formed in 1990 in Rugby, Warwickshire, by Jason Pierce (often known as J. Spaceman), formerly of Spacemen 3. After several line up-changes, in 1999, the band centered on Pierce (vocals, guitar), Doggen Foster (guitar) and Kevin Bales (drums and percussion) with revolving bassists and keyboard players. The band’s current bassist, James Stelfox, has been playing with the band since 2012. As of 2022, Spiritualized have released nine studio albums. The best known and most critically acclaimed of these is 1997's ''Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space'', which ''NME'' magazine named as their Album of the Year, beating other critically acclaimed albums by fellow British bands such as ''OK Computer'' by Radiohead and ''Urban Hymns'' by The Verve. Malmö
Malmö (, ; da, Malmø ) is the largest city in the Swedish county (län) of Scania (Skåne). Mark Refoy
Slipstream are an English indie rock band, not to be confused with the American band "The Slipstream", were formed in 1994 after Mark Refoy left Spiritualized. The band consisted of Ian Anderson on guitar, Gary Lennon on bass, Steve Beswick on drums and occasional appearances from Jonny Mattock who had also stopped drumming for Spiritualized later that year. Over the following five years the band released two albums, ''Slipstream'' and ''Be Groovy Or Leave'', and a compilation CD, ''Side Effects'', all on Ché Trading. In 1999, the band ceased recording after releasing a final single, "Everything And Anything", on the Enraptured label. The track featured on the soundtrack to the BBC Three sitcom, ''Ideal'' starring Johnny Vegas. Peter Kember
Peter Kember (born 19 November 1965), also known by his stage name Sonic Boom, is an English singer and record producer. He was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist of alternative rock band Spacemen 3, lasting from 1982 until the band's dissolution in 1991. He is now based in Sintra, Portugal. He provided the production on MGMT's second album ''Congratulations,'' Panda Bear's albums ''Tomboy'' and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'', and Beach House's album '' 7''. As a solo artist, Kember has recorded as Spectrum and E.A.R. (Experimental Audio Research), parallel musical projects with recordings under both names occasionally only featuring Kember. He has occasionally performed live under both monikers, most recently in 2008–11 as Spectrum, touring as a band in America and Europe. The Verve
The Verve were an English Rock music, rock band formed in Wigan in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones (musician), Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong later became a member in their first reunion only. ''Urban Hymns'' is the third studio album by English alternative rock band the Verve, released on 29 September 1997 on Hut Records. The album features guest appearances from the Balanescu Quartet, The London Community Gospel Choir and Dr. John. Background The album's title is from the philosophical novel ''Sophie's World'' by Jostein Gaarder, the context being: The album itself was recorded shortly after the break-up of Spiritualized's Jason Pierce and Kate Radley, the band's keyboard player. Richard Warren (musician)
Richard Daniel Warren (born 3 June 1973 in Sutton-in-Ashfield) is an English musician, songwriter and producer. Warren has performed with the groups The Hybirds and The Cold Light of Day and as a solo artist as Echoboy, Modlang and under his own name. Career Warren signed his first record deal with Heavenly Recordings at the height of Britpop in 1996, as one third of The Hybirds.* In 1999 when the band split, he branched out on his own and away from guitar-led pop, signing to Mute Records as Echoboy after Daniel Miller heard his releases on Earworm Records following his self-released 12" ''Flashlegs (Suite)''.
