Saint Louis FC was an American professional soccer team based in St. Louis, Missouri. The team was founded in May 2014, and competed in the USL Championship. The team played their matches at West Community Stadium, a venue inside the World Wide Technology Soccer Park. History SLSG Pro LLC (affiliated with St. Louis area youth club St. Louis Scott Gallagher) was awarded the USL Pro franchise on May 1, 2014. That same day, the club announced that they would play their home games at the 5,500 seat World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri. Dale Schilly, the youth club director of SLSG, was named head coach. On June 2, 2014, it was announced that the team's name was Saint Louis Football Club. Former AC St. Louis player Mike Ambersley was the first player signed to the team on January 13, 2015. World Wide Technology Soccer Park
World Wide Technology Soccer Park is a soccer complex which includes four soccer-specific stadiums, with the main field, West Community Stadium, holding 5,500 seats. Located in Fenton, Missouri, a suburb southwest of downtown St. Louis, it is operated by St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club whose 275 teams and 3,600 players use it for both practice and games. It is also the home field for Webster University's men's and women's soccer teams and was the home of Saint Louis FC from 2015-2020. The complex has five playing fields—three turf and two grass—and one main exhibition turf field, most of which are lighted. The fields are primarily used for Association Football, soccer but also host field hockey and lacrosse teams. Wilmington Hammerheads FC
Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017. History The Hammerheads had one championship in 2003, and were a finalist in 2002 and 2012, losing to the Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in 2002 and losing 0–1 to the Charleston Battery in 2012. Wilmington found great success in the US Open Cup in their later years, regularly drawing MLS teams in the late rounds. Their most famous result occurred in 2003 when they drew the Dallas Burn, an MLS team, in the middle of a particularly bad year. 2016 Saint Louis FC Season
The 2016 Saint Louis FC season was the franchise's second season in the United Soccer League, the third division of soccer in the United States. After playing their first season in the Eastern Conference of the USL, due to the addition of new teams to the league the club moved to the Western Conference for 2016. The club also renewed their affiliation with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer for the 2016 season, having partnered with them the previous year. Bryan Gaul
Bryan Gaul (born August 10, 1989 in Naperville, Illinois) is an American soccer player who most recently played for FSV Zwickau in the 3. Liga. Career College and Amateur Gaul played college soccer for Bradley University between 2008 and 2011. During his time at Bradley, Gaul was named NSCAA All-Midwest Region and All-Missouri Valley Conference in 2011. In 2010 Gaul was named All-Missouri Valley Conference in his first year as a forward, after converting from a midfielder. Professional Gaul was selected by the LA Galaxy in the first round (19th overall) of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. He made his debut for the club on May 2 against Seattle Sounders FC. Gaul made 14 appearances in 2012, along with 7 starts and notched an assist. After loan stints in 2013 with NASL clubs Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Carolina RailHawks, Gaul was waived by the Galaxy on in the 2014 preseason.
