2016 Saint Louis FC Season
The 2016 Saint Louis FC season was the franchise's second season in the United Soccer League, the third division of soccer in the United States. After playing their first season in the Eastern Conference of the USL, due to the addition of new teams to the league the club moved to the Western Conference for 2016. The club also renewed their affiliation with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer for the 2016 season, having partnered with them the previous year. Saint Louis FC was an American professional soccer team based in St. Louis, Missouri. The team was founded in May 2014, and competed in the USL Championship. The team played their matches at West Community Stadium, a venue inside the World Wide Technology Soccer Park. History SLSG Pro LLC (affiliated with St. Louis area youth club St. Louis Scott Gallagher) was awarded the USL Pro franchise on May 1, 2014. That same day, the club announced that they would play their home games at the 5,500 seat World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri. Dale Schilly, the youth club director of SLSG, was named head coach. On June 2, 2014, it was announced that the team's name was Saint Louis Football Club. Richard Dixon (born 23 February 1990) is a Jamaican footballer who plays as a defender for Chattanooga FC in MLS Next Pro. Career College and amateur Dixon played four years of college soccer at the University of West Florida. During his time at college, Dixon also played for USL PDL clubs Mississippi Brilla in 2010 and 2011 and Panama City Beach Pirates in 2012. Professional Dixon signed his first professional contract in 2013, signing for new USL Pro franchise VSI Tampa Bay FC. After Tampa Bay folded at the end of their debut season, Dixon signed with USL Pro team Charlotte Eagles.
