Ryukyu Golden Kings
The are a Japanese professional basketball team based in Okinawa (city), Okinawa, Okinawa Prefecture. They compete in the B.League, the top-tier professional basketball league of Japan. The Golden Kings have won the Japanese national title five times, as they won the bj league four times (2009, 2012, 2014, 2016) and the B.League once (2023). They were also losing B.League finalists once (2022). Okinawa Arena
The Okinawa Arena, also provisionally known as the Okinawa City Multi-Purpose Arena or Okinawa Suntory Arena, is an indoor arena in Okinawa (city), Okinawa, Japan. It was opened in 2021 and is one of the venues of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Background Plans to build the Okinawa arena were made as early as 2015. In 2016, it was announced that the sports venue will be built over the site occupied by the Okinawa City bullfighting ring next to the Koza Sports Park. Sachiyo Kuwae, the city mayor, unveiled the master plan for the 10,000-person-capacity multipurpose arena on 12 July 2016. The facility will have five stories above ground and will have a parking area for 1,000 vehicles. The Okinawa Arena will have a total area of . Its estimated total cost, including its parking facilities, is 17 billion yen. Lamont Alexander "Monty" Hamilton (born April 6, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for Niigata Albirex BB of the Japanese B.League. He is a tall power forward- center. Takatoshi Furukawa (born October 20, 1987) is a Japanese professional basketball player who currently plays for Akita Northern Happinets in the B.League. Dennard Maurice "Mo" Charlo (born July 22, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League. He played college basketball at Diablo Valley College and Nevada. High school career Charlo attended Eureka High School in Eureka, California where he played baseball, football and basketball. Draelon Burns (born October 7, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for Shinshu Brave Warriors in Japan. Standing at 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m), he primarily plays as point guard or shooting guard. Ira Demon Brown (born August 3, 1982) is a Japanese-American professional basketball player for the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka of the Japanese B.League. He had also spent three years with the Hirachi/Shibuya Sunrockers, as well as two years with the Toyama Grouses during his career in Japan.
