''Alburnus doriae'' is a species of cyprinid fish from Iran. It was previously thought to be restricted to central Iran, but recent research shows that it is more widespread and that ''Alburnus amirkabiri'' and ''Petroleuciscus esfahani'' are probably a synonyms of ''Alburnus doriae''. Description ''Alburnus doriae'' is a fish with a slender body which shows marked lateral compression with as lightly convex or straight dorsal profile. It has a pointed snout and the lower jaw normally projects beyond the upper jaw, the snout being at least as long as the diameter of the eye and equal to the interorbital distance, the interorbital area is concave. Cyprinidae is a family of freshwater fish commonly called the carp or minnow family. It includes the carps, the true minnows, and relatives like the barbs and barbels. Cyprinidae is the largest and most diverse fish family and the largest vertebrate animal family in general with about 3,000 species, of which only 1,270 remain extant, divided into about 370 genera. ''Leuciscus'' is a genus of fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae. They are inland water fishes commonly called Eurasian daces. The genus is widespread from Europe to Siberia. Species broadly distributed in Europe include the common dace ''Leuciscus leuciscus'' and the ide ''L. idus''. The European chubs were formerly also included in ''Leuciscus'', but they are now usually separated in another genus, ''Squalius'' (e.g. the chub, ''Squalius cephalus''). George Albert Boulenger
George Albert Boulenger (19 October 1858 – 23 November 1937) was a Belgian-British zoologist who described and gave scientific names to over 2,000 new animal species, chiefly fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Boulenger was also an active botanist during the last 30 years of his life, especially in the study of roses. Life Boulenger was born in Brussels, Belgium, the only son of Gustave Boulenger, a Belgian public notary, and Juliette Piérart, from Valenciennes. He graduated in 1876 from the Free University of Brussels with a degree in natural sciences, and worked for a while at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Brussels, as an assistant naturalist studying amphibians, reptiles, and fishes. Karl Fedorovich Kessler
Karl Fedorovich Kessler (19 November 1815 – 3 March 1881) was a German-Russian zoologist and author of zoological taxa signed ''Kessler'', who was mostly active in Kyiv, Ukraine. He conducted most of his studies of birds in Ukrainian regions of the Russian Empire: Kiev Governorate, Volyn Governorate, Kherson Governorate, Poltava Governorate and Bessarabia. He also studied the fish of the Dniester, Dnieper, and Southern Bug rivers, and on the Ukrainian coast of the Black Sea. Kessler was one of the first zoologists to propose that mutual aid, rather than mutual struggle, was the main factor in the evolution of a species.
