:PAPERCUTZ (stylized as :papercutz or :PAPERCUTZ) is a Portuguese electronic music act formed as a side project in Porto that became a fully active band in 2008. Bruno Miguel is the only official member of Papercutz and solely responsible for its musical direction. After recordings, Bruno assembles a live band to perform with him which may include musicians used on studio recordings. Past musicians have included vocalists Melissa Veras, a US singer with Portuguese ascendancy born in New York and Portuguese Marisa Pinto, Marcela Freitas as well as instrumentalists Bruno Ribeiro, Tiago Morgado and Francisco Bernardo, among others. Annie Nightingale described them as 'interesting and making an original sound' as one of the juries on the UK The People's Music Awards in 2009 where the group performed live and won the off the beaten track category. Sinjin Hawke
Alan Stanley Soucy Brinsmead, better known by the stage name Sinjin Hawke, is a Canadian-American electronic music producer and DJ. Career In late 2011, Sinjin Hawke released his first EP, "The Lights" on the Belgium-based Pelican Fly label and followed it up with tours throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. For this he developed a live hardware performance, which was later broadcast by Boiler Room in Los Angeles. In mid-2012, he released "Prom Nite" on Pelican Fly and followed that up with a series of remixes for DJ Assault and DJ Funk on Membrane and Booty Call Records respectively. In 2013, he participated in the New York City instalment of the Red Bull Music Academy, where he collaborated with rap producer Just Blaze on a song called “One”. Snow Ghosts
Snow Ghosts is a British musical group active since 2008. As of 2020, they have released four studio albums and four EPs. History Producer Ross Tones (aka Throwing Snow) and vocalist Hannah Cartwright (aka Augustus Ghost) first met and started collaborating in 2008, having a shared interest in British folklore and experimental electronic music. The first Snow Ghosts record, the ''Lost at Sea'' EP, was released through Black Acre Records in 2011. Following this initial release, Tones and Cartwright spent the next two years compiling their debut album, ''A Small Murmuration'', which was released on London nightclub Fabric's record label Houndstooth in 2013. Koreless
Lewis Roberts, better known by the stage name Koreless, is a British electronic musician and recording artist. He released his debut album, ''Agor'', in 2021. History Roberts was born in Wales and spends the majority of his time in Glasgow. In 2011, Koreless released his debut EP, ''4D'', on Pictures Music as a limited edition 12-inch single. In July 2012, he released single "Lost In Tokyo" on Jacques Greene's record label, Vase Records. He was invited to participate in the 2012 Red Bull Music Academy Summit in New York City. Koreless worked with London-based producer and vocalist Sampha in 2012 to form collaborative works under the name of Short Stories. Evian Christ
Joshua Leary (born 11 June 1989), better known by the stage name Evian Christ, is an English electronic music producer, DJ, songwriter and performance artist from Ellesmere Port, UK. He is signed to Tri Angle Records, Warp and Kanye West’s publishing house Donda and record label Very Good Beats. He released his debut mixtape ''Kings and Them'' in 2012 and gained prominence as a collaborator on West's 2013 album ''Yeezus''. He released a further EP on Tri Angle, ''Waterfall'', in 2014. Red Bull Music Academy
The Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) is a world-traveling series of music workshops and festivals that was founded in 1998 by Red Bull GmbH. The main five-week event is held in a different city each year. The public portion of its program is a festival of concerts, art installations, club nights and lectures by influential figures in contemporary music. The other part of the program is by invitation only and is held in a building that has been custom-fitted with a large recording studio, a lecture hall, a radio booth and 8–12 bedroom-sized studios. SXSW
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. Simon Scott (drummer)
Simon Scott (born 3 March 1971) is an English musician, best known as the drummer in Slowdive and formerly of Lowgold and The Charlottes. He also fronted Inner Sleeve/Televise, and has released ambient music as a solo artist. Career Born in Cambridge, Scott first started drumming with female fronted Huntingdon band The Charlottes in 1987 at the age of 16, having recorded two studio tracks a year earlier as part of Honey Chainsaw. He left the Charlottes in 1990 to replace original drummer Adrian Sell in Slowdive who supported them in London at The White Horse in Hampstead. He played on albums ''Just for a Day'' and ''Souvlaki'', which was voted in ''The Guardian'' as "One of the top 50 albums to hear before you die" in 2007. Lowgold
Lowgold are an English indie rock band formed in 1997 in St Albans, comprising vocalist and rhythm guitarist Darren Ford, lead guitarist Dan Symons and bassist Miles Willey. The band originally claimed that the word "lowgold" was derived from a Nordic word, directly translated as "of hidden worth". However the band later admitted that it is just a word that Ford made up.
