Pan-Malaysian Islamic Front
The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Front (, Jawi: باريسن جماعه اسلاميه سمليسيا often known by its ; acronym: BERJASA) is a political party in Malaysia. The party is part of a Malay-Islam based coalition named "Gerakan Tanah Air" . History The party was founded in 1977 by the then Chief Minister of Kelantan, Mohamed Nasir as a splinter of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), under the persuasion and endorsement of United Malays National Organisation which was dissatisfied with the demands made by the PAS. These demands included internal squabbles for the lump share in controlling the state of Kelantan and the pressure from UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) soon led to PAS withdrawing from BN and 1977 Kelantan Emergency. Mohamed Nasir
Dato' Haji Mohamed bin Nasir ( ms, محمد بن ناصر, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 1916 – 21 February 1997) was a Malaysian politician. He served as the fifteenth Menteri Besar of Kelantan from 1973 to 1978. Mohamed founded Pan-Malaysian Islamic Front (BERJASA) in 1977 under the persuasion and endorsement of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) who were dissatisfied with the demands of and in squabbles for the lump share in controlling the Barisan Nasional (BN) state of Kelantan with the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). A general election was held between Monday, 24 April and Tuesday, 25 April 1995 for members of the 9th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 192 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. Malaysian General Election, 1990
A general election was held between Saturday, 20 October and Sunday, 21 October 1990 for members of the 8th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 180 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 351 state constituencies in 11 (out of 13, except Sabah and Sarawak) states of Malaysia on the same day. The Parti Melayu Semangat 46 or ''Spirit of 46 Malay Party (S46)'' is a now defunct Malaysian political party. The party was formed in 1988, and dissolved in 1996. It was formed by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah's "Team B" faction of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), as a challenge to prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and UMNO. Razaleigh had the personal support of former UMNO prime ministers Tunku Abdul Rahman and Hussein Onn, both of whom had also fallen out with Mahathir. Establishment The idea of Semangat 46 first came about in 1985 or 1986 when Malaysia was experiencing an economic recession. The Muslim People's Party of Malaysia (, Jawi: ڤرتي هيزبول مسلمين مليسيا ; often known by its acronym: HAMIM) was a political party in Malaysia. HAMIM was founded in 1983 by Asri Muda, the former President of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) (1969-1982) and former Menteri Besar of Kelantan (1964-1973) following the failure of PAS to win back the Kelantan state government in the 1982 general election who had faced the topples of his PAS presidency by the cleric faction leading to his expulsion in 1982. The 1977 Kelantan Emergency took place in the state of Kelantan in Malaysia. The state of emergency was declared by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Yahya Petra who was also Sultan of Kelantan at the time on 8 November 1977 upon the request of the federal government following a political impasse and street violence in Kelantan.
