Pakistani comics ( ur, ) are comics or graphic novels originating from Pakistan. It have been started publishing from long time and Pakistani comics creators have gone to produce influential work in the comics industry. History After independence, comics are only used for politics and social issues. There was no professional comic artist but cartoonists started making it for newspaper articles. In 21st century, artists started creating comic books. Some new characters and superheroes arose. Nigar Nazar
Nigar Nazar (; born 1953) is a Pakistani female cartoonist. Her best-known character, Gogi, is an urban Pakistani woman struggling with her frailties in the context of sexist social norms. The character was created to educate people about social and educational advocacy problems. She is the chief executive officer of Gogi Studios. Biography Nigar switched from a medical degree to a degree in fine arts in 1968. She graduated in fine arts from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. She also attended courses at the Australian National University, Canberra. In 1970, her cartoon Gogi appeared for the first time in Karachi's Institute of Arts and Crafts annual magazine. In 2002–2003, she was a Fulbright scholar at the art department of the University of Oregon, and in 2009, she was a Fulbright Visiting Specialist at Colorado College. ''Dawn'' is a Pakistani English-language newspaper that was launched in British India in 1941. It is the largest English newspaper in Pakistan, and also serves as the country's newspaper of record. ] Pakistani art ( ur, ) has a long tradition and history. It consists of a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture, calligraphy, pottery, and textile arts such as woven silk. Geographically, it is a part of Indian subcontinent art, including what is now Pakistan. History After independence in 1947, there were only two major art schools in Pakistan - the Mayo School of Art and the Department of Fine Arts at the Punjab University. Early pioneers of Pakistani art include Abdur Rahman Chughtai who painted with Mughal and Islamic styles, and Ahmed Parvez who was among the early modernists of Pakistan. In the 1960s and 1970s, calligraphic styles emerged in Pakistan, with notable artists being Iqbal Geoffrey and Sadequain. Pakistan Herald Limited, doing business as the Dawn Media Group, is a Pakistani media company based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It publishes the ''Dawn'' newspaper and operates a TV channel, radio stations and websites. It is a listed member of All Pakistan Newspapers Society. Although it has faced tough competition from the Jang Group, it has still managed to remain popular. The group is headed by the Pakistani media mogul Hameed Haroon, its current CEO. Vise
A vise or vice (British English) is a mechanical apparatus used to secure an object to allow work to be performed on it. Vises have two parallel jaws, one fixed and the other movable, threaded in and out by a screw and lever. A vise grip is not a vise but a pair of lever-actuated locking pliers. Types Face A face vise is the standard woodworking vise, always securely attached to a workbench flush with its work surface. Its jaws are made of wood or metal, the latter usually faced with wood, called cheeks, to avoid marring the work. The movable jaw may include a retractable dog to hold work against a bench dog. A "quick-release" woodworker's vise employs a split nut that allows the screw to engage or disengage with a half-turn of the handle. Team Muhafiz ( ur, ) is a Pakistani comic book series featuring an organized group of fictional teenage Pakistani crime fighting superheroes launched in August 2015. The team faces the real-life issues of trafficking, terrorism and in its third issue, child marriages. Farooq Qaiser ( Punjabi, ur, فاروق قیصر; 31 October 1945 – 14 May 2021) was a Pakistani artist, newspaper columnist, TV show director, puppeteer, script writer, and voice actor. He was known as the creator of the fictional puppet character Uncle Sargam introduced in 1976 in children's television show ''Kaliyan''.
