Orange Warsaw Open
The Orange Warsaw Open (former Orange Prokom Open) was an annual men's tennis tournament played in Poland as part of the ATP Tour. The tournament was played on clay courts. The men's tournament began in 2001, when the San Marino Open moved to Sopot. Until 2007, the tournament was held in Sopot, before moving to Warsaw for 2008. There was also a women's tournament on the same site. It was first organized in 1992 as a lower level competition. In 1998, the tournament became a Tier IV tournament on the WTA Tour. The next year, it moved up to Tier III. The women's tournament folded in 2004. José Acasuso
José Javier "Chucho" Acasuso (; born 20 October 1982) is a former professional male tennis player from Argentina. Like many of his fellow countrymen, he favoured clay. He was known for his strong serve and his hard groundstrokes off both sides. His clothes sponsor was Topper and his racquet sponsor Head. Career Acasuso began playing tennis at the age of two, when his father took his brother and sister to his grandfather's tennis club. Reportedly, he got the nickname of "Chucho" from the fact that, when he was a child, he used to say his name was "José Acachucho." Acasuso played both basketball and tennis up until the age of 12, and then gave up basketball for tennis. Like Carlos Moyà, Acasuso is a natural left-hander, but plays tennis right-handed. The 2008 Orange Warsaw Open was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay court. It was the 8th edition of the Orange Warsaw Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Warszawianka Courts in Warsaw, Poland, from 9 June through 15 June 2008. The singles field was led by ATP No. 4, Miami Masters and Pörtschach winner Nikolay Davydenko, defending champion Tommy Robredo, and Viña del Mar and Pörtschach runner-up Juan Mónaco. The 2007 Orange Prokom Open was the tenth edition of this men's tennis tournament and was played on outdoor clay courts. The tournament was part of the International Series of the 2007 ATP Tour. It took place in Sopot, Poland from 30 July through 6 August 2007. Tommy Robredo won the singles title. Betting controversy Nikolay Davydenko, then world number 4, was questioned under suspicion of match fixing after his unexpected second round loss to world number 87 Martín Vassallo Argüello, 2–6, 6–3, 2–1 by retirement. Online betting company Betfair reported its suspicions to the game's governing body, the Association of Tennis Professionals, after irregular betting patterns occurred. Florian Mayer (; born 5 October 1983) is a German former professional tennis player. Mayer reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 18 in June 2011. Also in 2011, Mayer won his first ATP title after four previous defeats in ATP finals. Mayer competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
