Fichtelberg (Ore Mountains)
The Fichtelberg () is a mountain with two main peaks in the middle of the Ore Mountains in the east German state of Saxony, near the Czech border. At above sea level, the Fichtelberg is the highest mountain in Saxony, the second highest in the Ore Mountains and used to be the highest mountain in East Germany. Its subpeak is high. Sehmatal
Sehmatal is a municipality in the district of Erzgebirgskreis, in Saxony, Germany, which was created in 1999 through the union of ''Neudorf'', ''Cranzahl'' and ''Sehma''. The three villages are located along the Sehma river, aligned in a north-south direction. At the northern end is the former village of Sehma, in the middle the town of Cranzahl, to the south the village of Neudorf. The town borders to Annaberg-Buchholz in the north, in the east is Königswalde and Bärenstein, Oberwiesenthal is south and Crottendorf in the west. Nearby is the Bärenstein mountain with a height of 898 meters. The trains along Vejprty–Annaberg-Buchholz railway stop in Sehma and Cranzahl. Loučná pod Klínovcem (until 1947 Český Wiesenthal; german: Böhmisch Wiesenthal) is a town in Chomutov District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. Erzgebirgskreis
Erzgebirgskreis is a district ('' Kreis'') in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It is named after the Erzgebirge ("Ore Mountains"), a mountain range in the southern part of the district which forms part of the Germany–Czech Republic border. It borders (from the west and clockwise) the districts of Vogtlandkreis and Zwickau, the urban district Chemnitz, the district Mittelsachsen and the Czech Republic. Jens Weißflog (, ; born 21 July 1964) is a German former ski jumper. He is one of the best and most successful ski jumpers in the history of the sport. Only Finns Matti Nykänen and Janne Ahonen, Poles Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch and Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer have won more World Cup victories. Career Weißflog was born in Erlabrunn (now a part of Breitenbrunn, Saxony) in the Erzgebirge range. As a 19-year-old he won the Four Hills Tournament for East Germany in 1983/84. Weißflog was known as "Floh" (flea in German) due to his slight stature and his light body. That same winter he won the combined World Cup and later the normal hill event at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.
