Næstved Municipality
Næstved is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in the south of Denmark. The municipality includes the island of Gavnø. It covers an area of 681 km², and has a total population of 83,143 (2020). Its mayor is Carsten Rasmussen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Næstved. On 1 January 2007, ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007) merged the Næstved municipality with existing Fladså, Fuglebjerg, Holmegaard, and Suså municipalities to form the new Næstved municipality, increasing the total urban area population to more than 80,000. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions, which contain 98 municipalities ( da, kommuner , sing.: ). The Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark 19, Zealand 17 and North Denmark 11. This structure was established per an administrative reform (Danish: ''Strukturreformen''; English: (''The'') ''Structural Reform'') of the public sector of Denmark, effective 26 June 2005 (council elections 15 November 2005), which abolished the 13 counties (; singular ) and created five regions (; singular ) which unlike the counties (1970–2006) (Danish (singular) ''amtskommune'' ) are not municipalities. Danish Social Liberal Party
The Danish Social Liberal Party ( da, Radikale Venstre, , Radical Left) is a social-liberal political party in Denmark. The party was founded as a split from the Venstre Reform Party in 1905. Historically, the centrist party has played a central role in Danish politics and has supported governments on both sides of the political spectrum, as co-operation is a primary belief of the party. A pro-European party, it is a member of Liberal International and the ALDE, and has two MEPs in the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. Glumsø
Glumsø is a railway town, with a population of 2,121 (1.January 2022), located on the southern part of Zealand in Denmark. Until 1.January 2007 it was the seat of Suså Municipality. Glumsø Station is located in Glumsø, serving the Sydbanen line. The station was heavily redesigned in late 2009. Before being redesigned it used to serve German ICE trains on the Copenhagen-Hamburg line, although ICE trains now just pass through. Until January 1, 2007 Suså was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Storstrøm County in the southern part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 145 km2, and had a total population of 8,529 (2005). Its last mayor was Poul Erik Sørensen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Glumsø. Suså municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Fladså, Fuglebjerg, Holmegaard, and Næstved municipalities to form the new Næstved municipality.
