Nortorf
Nortorf is a town in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is approximately 13 km northwest of Neumünster, and 25 km southwest of Kiel. Geography The location of Nortorf is south of the municipality of Ellerdorf, but north of Gnutz, and east of Bargstedt. History Nortorf acquired the status of a city on July 17, 1909. Previously, in summer 1899, the first town hall had been opened in Nortorf. As a consequence of World War II, Nortorf experienced a significant influx of refugees, displaced persons and evacuees, raising its population from 3359 (May 1939) to 6047 (October 1946). Rendsburg-Eckernförde (; da, Rendsborg-Egernførde) is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the city of Kiel, the district of Plön (district), Plön, the city of Neumünster, the districts of Segeberg, Steinburg, Dithmarschen and Schleswig-Flensburg, and the Baltic Sea. History In 1867 the Prussian administration established twenty districts in its province of Schleswig-Holstein, among them the districts of Rendsburg and Eckernförde. The present district was established in 1970 by merging the former districts. Geography The district is situated at the coast of the Baltic Sea, roughly between the cities of city of Schleswig, Schleswig and Kiel. Hans Sommer (SS Officer)
Hans Sommer (born 26 June 1914) is a German national who served in the ''Sicherheitsdienst'' during World War II. After the war, he found a working relationship with Gehlen Organisation Agent # 2857and was subsequently a spy for the '' Stasi'', East Germany's secret police. Biography Born in Nortorf, Sommer joined the Hitler Youth at sixteen, and joined the SS #119 157 (1 December 1932) and NSDAP #1442457 (1 February 1933), respectively. He was chiefly in function of the ''Sicherheitsdienst'' (SD) before his service in the Wehrmacht (1936–38). Afterwards, he became a deputy to Otto Somann at SD Leignitz, followed by a stint in Breslau. He was active in the occupation of Sudetenland. On his return to Germany, he went to work at the SD headquarters, for which he was later posted to Paris, France. In October 1941, unbeknownst to his superiors, Sommer helped plan an attack on seven synagogues in Paris, inspired by the 1938 pogrom, in collaboration with Eugène Deloncle ...

Carl Christian Seydewitz
Carl Christian von Seydewitz (3 November 1777 – 10 October 1857) was a Danish-German portrait painter and army officer. He was not a member of the nobility but, from 1770 to 1860, officers were allowed to use "von" with their surnames. Biography von Seydewitz was born in Nortorf, Denmark. He was the son of Johann Christoph Heinrich von Seydewitz (1748-1824) and Magdalena Maria Ralfs. His father was an architect and builder in the rural districts of Mecklenburg. He followed his older brother, into the Royal Danish Army when he was only fourteen. In 1796, became a fændrik (roughly equivalent to ensign) à la suite in the Schleswig Regiment. He was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1804 and Captain in 1810. In 1816, due to cutbacks in troop strength, he was mustered out with the rank of Major. Hans Philipp August Albers (22 September 1891 – 24 July 1960) was a German actor and singer. He was the biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1960 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. Early life Hans Albers was born in Hamburg, the son of a butcher, and grew up in the district of St. Georg. He was seriously interested in acting by his late teens and took acting classes without the knowledge of his parents.
