New Jersey Generals (2022)
The New Jersey Generals are a professional American football team based in New Jersey. The Generals compete in the United States Football League (USFL) as a member club of the league's North division. The team plays its home games in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The stadium is shared with the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Generals were one of eight teams that joined the USFL in 2022, and they are one of seven of that group still existing. They currently are the only team to have a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award winner, KaVontae Turpin (2022). History The New Jersey Generals were one of eight teams that were officially announced as a USFL franchise on ''The Herd with Colin Cowherd'' on November 22, 2021. Tom Benson Hall Of Fame Stadium
Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, formerly Fawcett Stadium, is a football stadium and entertainment complex in Canton, Ohio. It is a major component of ''Hall of Fame Village'', located adjacent to the grounds of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The venue hosts the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game and serves as the home field for the football teams from Canton McKinley High School. It also served as the home field for Malone University from 1993 to 2018 and Walsh University from 1998 to 2022. It also served as the home stadium for a number of other Canton-area high schools. The stadium was constructed as a replacement for League Field, the city's previous stadium, where Canton's professional football team, the Bulldogs, played many of their games. Luis Perez (American Football)
Luis Francisco Perez (born August 26, 1994) is an American football quarterback for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He played college football at Texas A&M University–Commerce from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, he played junior college football at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California. He was awarded the Harlon Hill Trophy in 2017 as the best football player in NCAA Division II and led the Lions to their second national championship in football during the 2017 season, their first since 1972. James Rodgers (gridiron Football)
James Rodgers Jr. (born December 20, 1988) is an American football coach and former wide receiver who is the wide receivers coach for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football for Oregon State University. He has also played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Zerick Rollins
Zerick Rollins Sr. (born June 20, 1975) is an American football coach. He played college football at Texas A&M. Zerick was a two-year starter at Texas A&M (1996–1997) where he helped the Aggies win the Big 12 South title in 1997. He also played in the 1998 Cotton Bowl against UCLA. Zerick graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in economics and also earned a master's degree in Educational Administration, while also serving as a graduate assistant (1998–2000). 2022 USFL Season
The 2022 USFL season is the planned inaugural season of the United States Football League (USFL), and the first by a league of the name since the 1985 season of the previous incarnation of the league. Planned to be played from April 16, 2022 to June 2022, it will involve eight teams, and will be played in its entirety in Birmingham, Alabama. Background Broadcasting Fox Sports is the league's official broadcast partner, and plans to split the games' broadcast rights equally between Fox, FS1, NBC and USA Network. The 2022 Philadelphia Stars season is the ongoing first season for the Philadelphia Stars as a professional American football franchise. They play as charter members of the United States Football League, one of eight teams to compete in the league for the 2022 season. Shalom Luani (born August 5, 1994) is an American football safety for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He is better known worldwide for his soccer career, having scored against Tonga in American Samoa's first-ever win in FIFA-sanctioned play.
