Nevele () is a village and former Municipalities of Belgium, municipality located in the Belgium, Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Hansbeke, Landegem, Merendree, Nevele proper, Poesele and Vosselare. In 2018, the municipality of Nevele had a total population of 12,179. The total area is 51.89 km². Effective 1 January 2019, the municipality was merged into Deinze. Subdivisions Nevele consisted of six ''deelgemeenten'' (sub-municipalities). Vosselare
Vosselare is a village and submunicipality of the municipality of Deinze, Belgium in the province of East-Flanders, Belgium. History The parish is first mentioned in 694 as Fursitio in the yearbook of the St-Peter Abbey of Ghent, and again in 802. Later on it is referred to as 'Voslariensis ecclesiae' (1087), Vurslar (1122), Vorselar (1125), Furselare (1130), Vurselaer (1140), Vorselaer (1147), Vursselare (1230, 1320, 1579), Vorslaer (1330), Vurselare (1364, 1500) and Vosselare for the first time in 1650.De Potter, F. and Broeckaert, J., 1870. Rosalie Loveling
Rosalie Loveling (20 March 1834 – 4 May 1875) was a Flemish author of poetry, novels, and essays. Biography Rosalie Loveling was born in Nevele, Belgium, and was the older sister of Virginie Loveling, also an author, with whom she co-wrote part of her oeuvre. After the death of their father Herman Loveling, the family moved to Ghent where the sisters moved in circles of French-speaking, mainly anti-clerical intelligentsia before eventually returning to Nevele. She made her literary debut influenced by Klaus Groth, whose 'Trinia' she translated into Dutch. Together with her sister, she went on to write realistic and descriptive poetry with a romantic undertone. They also published two collections of essays on life in the rural communities as well as the city bourgeoisie. Rosalie Loveling died on 4 May 1875 in Nevele. Hansbeke
Hansbeke is a village and '' deelgemeente'' (sub-municipality) in the municipality of Deinze in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village is located about west of Ghent. History The village was first mentioned in 1147 as Hansbeka, and means "brook near Hamme". The parish was demarcated in 1242, and became part of the Diocese of Ghent in 1559. In 1838, a railway station opened on the Ghent to Bruges railway line. Later the E40 highway was constructed parallel to the railway line. The improved connection to the outside world resulted in the transformation of an agricultural community into a commuter's town. Hansbeke was an independent municipality until 1977, when it was merged to Nevele. In 2019, it was merged in Deinze. The villagers have established their own village council in December 2019, because they were worried that they were being ignored by the city in the larger municipality. Lovendegem () is a town and former municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the province of East Flanders. The municipality comprised the towns of Lovendegem proper and Vinderhoute. In 2018, Lovendegem had a total population of 9,574. The total area is 19.48 km². History The name of the town was first recorded as ''Lovendenghiem'' in 1150, but there are traces of human settlements back to the Iron Age.
