Netball Quad Series
The Netball Quad Series is an annual international netball series contested by the national teams of Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa. Background In December 2015, the governing bodies of netball in Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa formed SANZEA, an international partnership of the four nations to organise a new international netball competition to be played on a regular basis. The four governing bodies had discussed such a proposal in 2012, though it took four years before the partnership could be formalised. The purpose of the series is to provide the strongest netball nations with the opportunity to play regularly scheduled international test matches with meaningful outcomes for the players and competition. 2019 Netball Quad Series (January)
The 2019 Netball Quad Series was the sixth Netball Quad Series of test matches, contested by four of the five highest ranked nations in netball. The series was held in England in January 2019, several months before the 2019 Netball World Cup. Despite losing to England in the last match of the series, Australia successfully defended their title, eclipsing the English side on goal difference. Jamaica National Netball Team
The Jamaica national netball team, commonly known as the Sunshine Girls, represent Jamaica in international netball competitions. Netball is not only the number one women's sport in Jamaica but also the number one team sport in the island, based on World Rankings and recent history and the majority of the schools in Jamaica participate. Netball receives full media coverage on television, radio and in newspapers but does not get as much coverage as less successful team sports such as football and cricket. Jamaica were coached by former representative Oberon Pitterson, and captained by midcourt veteran Nadine Bryan up to the end of 2013.
