Kentucky Route 70 (KY 70) is a long east-east state highway that originates at a junction with U.S. Route 60 (US 60) in Smithland in Livingston County, just east of the Ohio River. The route continues through the counties of Crittenden, Caldwell, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Butler, Edmonson, Barren, Barren, Metcalfe, Green, Taylor, Casey, Pulaski, Lincoln and back into Pulaski again to terminate at a junction with US 150 near Maretburg in Rockcastle. Route description Livingston County Kentucky Route 70 begins in the Livingston County seat of Smithland, Kentucky, originating at a junction with U.S. Route 60 (US 60). It travels eastward to a junction with KY 866, and reaches a dead end at Tiline, along the Cumberland River. KY 70 does not connect from Tiline to Dycusburg since the ferry service at that point was discontinued in 1951. Windyville is an unincorporated community located in Edmonson County, Kentucky, United States. History The name of Windyville is derived from its old nickname, “Kentucky’s Windy City”. Much so, a restaurant housed within a convenience store in the community was called “Windy City Cafe.” The store was shut down at some point in 2003 due to new competition in the Riverhill neighborhood on Brownsville's northern outskirts. Geography and location Windyville is located about west-northwest of Brownsville along State Highway 70. Education Students who are residing in Windyville attend Edmonson County Schools, including the Edmonson County High School, in Brownsville. At one time, Windyville was served by locally based school just west of the town, Blanton School, as well as another school in nearby Asphalt until the 1959-60 merger of all of Edmonson County's high schools in other communities. Munfordville, Kentucky
Munfordville is a home rule-class city in, and the county seat of, Hart County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,615 at the 2010 U.S. census. History The settlement was once known as "Big Buffalo Crossing". The current name came from Richard Jones Munford, who donated the land to establish the new county seat in 1816. Munfordville was incorporated in 1858. In 1862, the Civil War Battle of Munfordville took place in the town. Geography Munfordville is located in central Hart County at (37.276608, -85.897822), on the north side of the Green River. Park City, Kentucky
Park City is a home rule-class city in Barren County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 537 at the 2010 census. It has served as the historical entrance to nearby Mammoth Cave National Park and to Diamond Caverns, a privately owned cave attraction. Park City is part of the Glasgow micropolitan area. History In the early 19th century, the site of the present city was the junction of the Louisville and Nashville Pike with spur roads to Glasgow and Bardstown. By 1827, a stagecoach relay station had developed into a settlement with a post office named Three Forks.
