The National Football League ( bn, জাতীয় ফুটবল লীগ) was a semi-professional association football league in Bangladesh, and the first football league in the country to be organized on a national scale. From 2000 to 2006, the National Football League was contested by club champions from various districts (Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barishal, and Sylhet), in addition to the top three finishing teams from the country's premier division at the time, the Dhaka Premier Division League (Dhaka League). In 2006, the league was folded, as the Dhaka Premier Division League was replaced by the country's first professional top-tier national league, the Bangladesh Premier League. Asian Football Confederation
The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Brothers Union
Brothers Union is a football club based in Gopibag, Dhaka. The club was founded in 1949 and the regal business tycoon Kazi Ghiyasuddin Ahmed, better known as K. G. Ahmed served as the founder chairman of the club. At the beginning it was a well-known cultural organization. In 1973, the club started their football activities. They played 3rd Division Football League in 1973 and in 1974 and were promoted to 2nd Division in 1975. Brothers also won the title in the same year and as a result this club was promoted to 1st Division. Brothers won their first major title in the year 2004. After they were relegated from BPL in 2021-22 season the club withdrew their name from participating in the BCL. They will return in the BCL for 2022-23 season. Muktijoddha Sangsad KC ( bn, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ ক্রীড়া চক্র) is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The club is nicknamed The Freedom Fighters. It competes in the country's premier competition, Bangladesh Premier League. History Early Years Founded in 1981, by the Muktijoddha Sangsad welfare association, in remembrance of the Freedom Fighters that died in Bangladesh during the 1971 Liberation War. In 1982, during their time in the Dhaka First Division, Muktijoddha formed a fierce rivalry with BRTC FC. The two clubs fought head on for promotion and during the league ending game, Muktijoddha's forward "Lucky" Govinda who was lethal throughout the season was not able to prevent the clubs defeat.
