Hromada
A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality. It was established by the Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Similar terms exist in Poland (''gromada'') and in Belarus (''hramada''). The literal translation of this term is "community", similarly to the terms used in western European states, such as Germany ('' Gemeinde''), France (''commune'') and Italy (''comune''). History In history of Ukraine and Belarus, hromadas appeared first as village communities, which gathered their meetings for discussing and resolving current issues. In the 19th century, there were a number of political organizations of the same name, particularly in Belarus. Rohachyn
Rohachyn (''Ukrainian'': Рогачин, ''Polish'' Rohaczyn, ''Russian'' Rogachin) is a village (of 886 people) in Ternopil Raion (district) of Ternopil Oblast (province) in western Ukraine (the historic region of Eastern Galicia). It belongs to Naraiv rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The first historical mention dates to 1578, when Rohachyn mentioned as property of B. Narajowski. Until 18 July 2020, Rohachyn belonged to Berezhany Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ternopil Oblast to three. The area of Berezhany Raion was merged into Ternopil Raion. Rohachyn lies in the valley of Narayivka river on its way between Narayiv and Kuryany. Pidvysoke, Ternopil Oblast
Pidvysoke ( uk, Підвисоке, pl, Podwysokie) is a village of 317 people in Ternopil Raion of Ternopil Oblast in western part of Ukraine. It is situated along the valley of river Narayivka with forested hills (of about 400 meters above sea level) on both sides of the village. It is the first village when entering Ternopil Raion and Ternopil Oblast by highway Stryi-Kirovohrad from the side of Rohatyn and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. There is an important railway station and junction in the village as well as Pidvysoke limestone slaking factory. Vast deposits of limestone are nearby. Kuriany, Ukraine
Kuriany ( uk, Куряни; pl, Kurzany) is a village of 831 people in Ternopil Raion (district) of Ternopil Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. Kuriany is situated on both sides of the Narayivka River, in a valley surrounded by hills covered with thick forests on both sides. The main Ternopil-Stryi highway runs through town. Kuriany belongs to Naraiv rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Until 18 July 2020, Kuriany belonged to Berezhany Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ternopil Oblast to three. The area of Berezhany Raion was merged into Ternopil Raion. Its name comes from the word "kuryty" (= to smoke) or "kury" (hens). There are large deposits of sand near the village, providing some sand mining industry. The distance to Berezhany is 13 km eastward.
