Modern Pentathlon At The 2024 Summer Olympics
The modern pentathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris is scheduled to take place from 8 to 11 August 2024 at the Palace of Versailles and the Vélodrome National. The Palace of Versailles will host all the modern pentathlon events, excluding the fencing ranking rounds which will occur at the National Velodrome. Two events will be contested, one for men and another for women. In late 2021, the International Olympic Committee announced that modern pentathlon would be dropped from the Olympic program after 2024, following the controversy in the riding segment of the women's event in Tokyo 2020, which saw German coach Kim Raisner ejected from the Games for physically assaulting one of the horses. The Palace of Versailles ( ; french: Château de Versailles ) is a former royal residence built by King Louis XIV located in Versailles, Yvelines, Versailles, about west of Paris, France. 2023 Pan American Games
The 2023 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2023, links=no), officially the XIX Pan American Games and commonly known as Santiago 2023, is a forthcoming international multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, scheduled to be held in Santiago, Chile from 20 October to 5 November 2023. Laser-run (also known as laser run) is a multisport competition consisting of running and shooting. It is a sport in its own right and the last event of the modern pentathlon where it was formerly known as combined. Distance and format Laser-run is a competition that involves cross country running and laser pistol shooting in multiple sequences. Laser-run competitions are held under rules of the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM).
